Inamoto Set For Early Return

“LONDON COLNEY, England (Reuters) – Junichi Inamoto will be allowed to join up with his Japan team mates before the end of the English season, Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger said on Friday.

Inamoto has failed to win a regular first team place at Arsenal since his four million pound move from Gamba Osaka last July and Wenger is prepared to let the midfielder leave early so he can prepare for the World Cup finals with his national side.

“”He could leave at the end of April,”" Wenger told reporters at the club’s training ground.

Editorial Comment: Wenger has purchased several players who in their first year with the club didn’t look like much. I would be interested in seeing Inamoto get some World Cup experience then return to Arsenal. He could be similar to Edu who this time last year we would have gladly shipped out, but is now looking good in the first team – Rick”

Bergkamp gets player of the month award

“From Ananova:

Dennis Bergkamp has received a boost ahead of the North London derby by being named the Premiership player of the month.

The Dutchman scored twice as he helped Arsenal to four league wins during March.

The Gunners beat Newcastle, Derby, Aston Villa and Sunderland to go top of the table.

The Barclaycard Awards Panel said: “”He’s two footed, he can score goals from anywhere and has the ability to change a match with a moment of genius.

“”It is no surprise that his current purple patch has coincided with Arsenal looking like title favourites again because when he plays well, Arsenal play well.”"

New Site Additions

“A couple of new features on the site we wanted to let you know about in case you haven’t already checked them out. We’ve now got some book reviews in the club shop area (with handy links to Amazon if you’re so inclined.) We’d love to add some more so if you’ve read something good let us know about it.

Also, there are a couple of audio downloads in the Match Radio section to help get you in the mood prior to a game. They also would work well if blasted at full volume when your misguided Spurs-supporting friend comes over. They’re pretty short, so put them on a loop to get the full effect.
