“The EINY comes correct with mad flava in his latest opus…
Well it would seem it’s been a while since ol’ EINY’s been on AA and there’s been quite a bit of reading I’ve had to catch up on and make a few “”musings”" on so here goes…… this whole Junichi Inamoto goal scoring binge he’s been on, does anyone REALLY think he’d be such a poacher if he was still at Arsenal? Come on, it’s not like he’s all of a sudden become the 2nd coming of Anders Limpar or something, he’s playing for Fulham in the Inter-Toto Cup! Some of the Arsenal under 19’s could score in that competition (even some of the more talented under 17’s too I bet!). He scored 2 goals in the World Cup but let’s not forget that he was so well rested from not playing at all for the Arsenal during the season outside of reserve matches so he was fresh when he went home to his homeland and played for his country while the best player on his team Nakata was double teamed all over the pitch so of course there was room for someone else to score.
The question was asked if the Arsenal reserves were so good that he couldn’t get a run-in with them. I’d have to say unequivocally “”YES”" the reserves were that good and the first team choices of Parlour, Edu, Wiltord, Vieira, Ljungberg, Pires and even Gilles Grimandi were BETTER than Junichi and that’s why he was left out of the squad by Wenger lastseason. If he was so good AW would have kept him but he wasn’t and he’ll go the way of Vernazza, Riza, Hughes, Vivas, Garde, Grondin and so many other so-called “”can’t miss”" players from under Wenger’s tenure that won’t notice how good they had it at Highbury until it was too late by demanding first team chances instead of trying to better themselves at Highbury first.

–Listen, I?m not saying Inamoto is better than Pires, Vieira, Edu, Silva, Ljungberg or even von Bronckhorst, but let?s give credit where credit is due. Inamoto is talented and perhaps in Fulham he?s found a place where he can shine. As long as he doesn?t do it against Arsenal I say, God bless.
Another thing that I’ve noticed has been the Manchester United “”bashing”" going on lately. Let’s not get too full of ourselves now, it’s always “”fun”" to laugh at the mancs but let’s remember that this is a team that has dominated English football over the last decade and won’t go away that easily. It’s not like the Liverpool dynasty that crumbled quicker than a straw house in a hurricane, United has the resources and name to attract the big names and the stadium capacity to afford these names and as long as there’s a European Cup to be played for, United won’t be out of the hunt for anything. Granted they’ve hit a patch of injuries for the first time in what must seem like a decade or so, but they’re STILL the team to beat in England as far as I’m concerned.

True enough, though I would say that right now, we?re the team to beat in England.
Liverpool is starting to look like Chelsea of a few years back-a lot of flash and we’ll have to wait and see how much flopping they’ll try and get away with this season. And then there was something that REALLY caught my eyes - a Gooner wrote that they actually “”rooted”" for sperz when they played against United and Liverpool??? Have I died and gone to hell or something?????? The day Gooners should start rooting for sperz no matter who the opposition is is the day we all should pack it in. For example, you wouldn’t see a manc “”rooting”" for Liverpool, or a Geordie “”rooting”" for Sunderland, a Barcelona fan “”rooting”" for Madrid or a Celtic fan “”rooting”" for Rangers, it just doesn’t happen! Now I understand being a fan of Sol Campbell’s, but not for one second of my life would I EVER “”root”" for the scum and call myself a Gooner! The feeling of “”dislike”" for those cretins down the wrong end of the 7 Sisters Rd. should forever be strong and never dwindle until they are in the lowest of divisions of football and out of London.

Interesting to note that in the season ending polls conducted by The Gooner Fanzine, ManU was chosen as most hated over Spurs. EINY, is it getting a little hot in here?
Lawrence Emanuel’s depiction of the late ’70’s and the feelings between the 2 teams said it all for me. His “”Brady at the Lane, 5-nil”" story summed it up perfectly and to read that a Gooner actually “”rooted”" for “”them”" made me cringe. I hope that Gooner will atone for that blaspheme and vow to NEVER speak well of the totts again….
Kentucky Gunner’s well placed pre-season article on the Premiership-spot on, mate! Good job…. K.Korbis-thanks for the match reports…Arsenal America-happy belated b-day and I hope EVERYONE reading will continue to contribute! Champions League draw-well it looks like the Arsenal avoided some of the bigger names but that’s happened before and ended up in disaster to the likes of Lens and Dynamo Kiev so let’s not book any tickets for Old Trafford next May just yet. A nice 3 points on the 17th against Dortmund to start things would do nicely. The draw seems to benefit our non-flying Dutch ace Mr.Bergkamp too so maybe he’ll play an integral part in the quest for European football’s holy grail.
“”Whew”"! I think I’ve said enough for now I guess and before I leave I must say that since the last time I posted on here in May the following occured- Italy and Spain “”robbed”" in the World Cup, Ronaldo rejuvenated and then turns back on Inter Milan who stood by his side while he was hurt, Italian football league on the verge of financial disaster, Tony Adams retired from Arsenal along with Lee Dixon, Pepsi-can looking shirts now become the away jersey of choice for the Arsenal and Arsenal STILL top of the league!;) Cheers….
