When Highbury was being built (before the days of automobiles) a horse was backing up with a cart to fill a large hole in the foundations of the north bank. Unfortunately the wheels of the cart fell over the edge dragging the cart and horse with them. As they were unable to remove it because of logistical reasons, the horse was destroyed and covered over. Story has it that it is still buried beneath our famous stand.Who would have thought it?
