Ken Bradley previews the next lamb offered for slaughter, Everton?

Everton brought in a new manager, David Moyes, to energize an otherwise lethargic club. A group of inexperienced and older players seemed not to work well and a new, and perhaps unorthodox approach, was needed. Moyes brought in an uptempo, goal-oriented style to which the players responded. Everton have already been involved in a number of high-scoring and entertaining matches. Moyes style is to win, draws are not acceptable, even to larger clubs like ManUtd. (a game Everton lost 3-0, all 3 coming in the last minutes of the match.)

The gameplan for Everton relies on teamwork. They are already evolving into a cohesive unit and they are working on the stability needed to be successful. The Toffees attempt to move the ball quickly and accurately through the midfield, pushing aggressively to goal. The back four stay flat and don’t like to get sucked in deep. The central defenders play close together and like to move up to support the midfield. These aspects allow for space around the goal and certainly a situation to exploit.

The new system has revitalized an old Gunner in Kevin Campbell. Scoring only five goals in the all of last year he has already scored five and made starts in all matches. Even if he is not coupled with Wayne Rooney at the weekend this young lad needs a mention. A 16-year old trainee, he has already scored several goals for the club. He is quick, aggressive and seems not to be intimidated by the new found spotlight. He recently signed a very lucrative deal with talent agents who represent some of the best in England.

Everton recently changed shirt sponsors to Kejian, a Chinese electronics company. It was only logical to bring in a couple of talented Chinese players in the off-season. Li Weifeng and Li Tie come into the Everton midfield and Li Tie is already made his way into the starting XI. The rest of the midfield should be comprised of Gravesen, Carsley and Pembridge, all Premiership vets.

We can?t go any longer without a mention of another former Gunner, Richard Wright. In an attempt to see more first team action and work his way into the England National team, Wright took a transfer to Everton in the summer. Not impressive in a few appearances for the Gunners he has not impressed at Everton. As soon as he makes an unbelievable save and appears to have saved the day he ruins an otherwise great outing with a horrible gaff. He is under constant pressure and faces more shots than the average keeper. He remains optimistic and may be only moments from his breakout game but for now we can only do our best to make him look bad.

Everton are 1-4-0(4 losses) on the road thus far. They simply cannot put forth the same effort when they travel from Goodison Park and to come to Highbury without 110% will be deadly. The bookies, yet again, see this as a lopsided affair and though I believe Everton are every bit as good as their 12th place would indicate, that won?t be enough against the mighty Arsenal.

Arsenal America Predicts: Simply too many weapons for Arsene?s side, Gunners take it 4-1.
