What a week it’s been for the Arsenal with our “new Ian Wright” Thierry Henry becoming the 2nd Arsenal player in as many weeks to notch his 100th goal for the club. It was a mere 3 seasons back when Thierry became an Arsenal player as he was purchased from Juventus as a “pacey winger” and who would believe that a substitute beginning against Leicester would eventually become the revered striker and one of the most feared and respected forwards in the world. With speed, pace and talent belying his talent, Thierry Henry has become the main jewel in Wenger’s...

Once again it’s time to take a look at the world of football, point fingers and declare someone ‘Unmitigated Crap.”: 1. Spurs - They signed Sergei Rebrov for 11 million pounds in 2000, now they’ll sell him for a fraction of that. Hey Spurs, you might want to take a look at how Wenger does it. BUY low and SELL high.

2. Gazza - Enough already.

3. The Media - Please stop playing the role of enabler for Gazza. Just stop covering him already.

4. Chelsea - Nice pitch.

5. Charlton - You could have played Chelsea on fresh sod, on top of a billiard table, or the surface...

As Arsenal fans we get used to the beautiful pitch of Highbury, which, I believe, was voted top pitch in the Premiership last season. Well, they do things a bit differently over at Stamford Bridge. Chelsea beat Charlton on the weekend on what could charitably be called a less than optimal playing surface. In fact, it was a beach.

Chelsea are laying down a new pitch as we speak and figured they’d get a jump on things by covering the entire field in sand last Friday. They failed to mention this little bit of information to the folks at Charlton. As one would imagine, playing on sand is...

Two of our core positions at Arsenal America is that Arsenal FC are a bit special, and that everyone here has a voice. Well, normally I hear nothing but positives when someone goes to Highbury, however I recently received the following letter and felt it should be posted as well. It comes from Dave Gilbert of Baltimore, Maryland:

First of all I want to say I enjoy your website, and your articles in the Arsenal magazine, I love to read all of them! I was recently over in the UK, and I had to get to see my Arsenal play at Highbury, I’m a gooner!! Anyways I made a HUGE mistake by opening...

Congratulations to two of the best players ever to pull on the Arsenal jersey, Dennis Bergkamp and Thierry Henry. Both recently notched their 100th goal for Arsenal.

I think it’s fair to say that if none of us see a better Arsenal player in our lifetime’s, we can’t really complain. He simply plays a different game than most on the pitch.

With Henry we will see, barring injury or transfer, Arsena’s all-time goal scorer. He’ll be chasing Ian Wright now and is a good bet to catch him. No disrespect to Henry, but can you imagine how many goals Wright would have...

If you haven’t gone to arsenal.com lately, do yourself a favor and swing on by. They’ve got a real fun new download called “Desktop Wenger.” It’s a cartoon-like Le Boss who sits on your computer desktop. Throughout the day he’ll bring you messages and offer your wallpapers and video highlights to download. The cartoon is a great characature of Wenger and when you move him about your desktop he holds the EPL trophy aloft.

Good stuff, go check it out.
