Jeff Lancaster, known to many of you as the greatest guy in the world, went to our midweek Champs League match. Here’s his report on the trip…
Wednesday morning began with a flight from London to Brussels, Belgium for $3 return, plus taxes, making about $30 in all! 45 minutes after take off we arrived, and then hired a car to drive up to Amsterdam. An uneventful journey with not a lot to see on the way, and after arriving in the city and getting a hotel, it was straight down to the Amsterdam Arena to “check it out”. The stadium is situated on the outskirts of...

I’m sure all of you have heard by now that the Dirt Devils will be touring the States this summer. They’ll be making an appearance in Philadelphia to play Barcelona at Lincoln Financial Field. I live less than 30 minutes from there and am torn.

Some very well put together arguments have been displayed here of late regarding the issue of rivalries. Just to keep things going a bit, let me throw this out at you:
I?ll start by saying that I recognize that not having been a lifelong football fan, and not having grown up in a football mad country, I don?t have a first-hand experience on this issue. That being said, here?s why right now, today, I have more bad feelings towards United than towards Spurs.

Ok, this is simply a tremendous position statement written by Jason. It almost, almost, makes me change my mind. By the way, is there a set of fans anywhere who consistently turn out the quality of commentary that ArseAm members do? I’m always blown away by the intelligence of the statements, even when I don’t necessarily agree. I encourage more of you to put finger to keyboard as young Jason has done here…

I’ve read with great interest Rick’s editorial about how ManUre is now Arsenal’s greatest rival in the minds...

Here’s Ken Bradley, the Kentucky Gunner, with the lowdown on Charlton Athletic…
While the rest of the League has been beating up each other and the Gunners have been marching towards the Trophy, Charlton have been sneaking up the table. Unbeknownst to the rest of us the Addicks have positioned themselves in 6th. On the way up the table Charlton have managed 5 consecutive wins (Villa, Everton, Sunderland, West Brom and West Ham) and 34 points out of their last 15 games. These results have lifted them from the bottom and relegation talks to possible European paydays.

I love the EINY. He’s absolutely fearless and will call anybody out, friend or foe. With the emergence of a popular new voice here at ArseAm in Rob Silverman, the EINY comes up with an epic…
Well here I am trying to get my thoughts together over reading the past week’s entries and sorting out the Arsenal’s performances when what hits EINY between the eyes but a case of “Homer Simpson “D’oh!” syndrome” after witnessing the performance (dare we call it that?) of the away European tie in Amsterdam. But more on that later….

According to Reuters:
Arsenal’s Cole faces lengthy lay-off after hernia surgery
LONDON, Feb 27 (Reuters) - England and Arsenal fullback Ashley Cole underwent surgery to fix a hernia on Thursday and is likely to be out of action for several weeks.

Little did the Roma players know that when they started their Champion’s league Group B match last night in Spain that the entire Valencia back four had been replaced by Man City defenders on loan from Kevin Keegan for the first half only. Valencia’s first half performance yesterday was so bad that it ranked with Arsenal’s performance this year in the Premiership against Man U and Fulham’s dismal showing against Burnley in the Cup last night.
