Here’s a list of upcoming TV matches involving Arsenal. This information is gathered from several sources, although the primary source is soccertv.com.

Please contact me if you have any questions.

-Arsenal v. Charlton Athletic (Sunday March 2) is live in Canada and on same-day tape delay in the U.S. The match will be shown on FSW Canada at 7 a.m. ET, and on PPV in the U.S. at 11 a.m. ET.

One note about this game: As of last night (Wed. 2/26) this match had not yet shown up on my electronic programming guide (I have Dish Network). Instead, the Worthless Cup match was listed on Channel 455, which is where most of the EPL PPV games show up. I’ll update this when I find out what channel it’s on.

-Arsenal v. Chelsea (Saturday March 8) in the FA Cup is available live on Setanta Sport Closed-circuit TV (bars and pubs) and Bell ExpressVu (in Canada). It will also *probably* be available on DirecTV and DISH Network, but that still needs to be confirmed. The game is a later kickoff than our last FA Cup match at ManUre, so live coverage starts at 12:15 p.m. ET.

-Arsenal vs. Roma in the Champions League (Tuesday March 11) is available live on Setanta closed-circuit TV. Setanta is available in some bars and pubs in the U.S. and Canada, check www.setanta.com for details.

-Arsenal v. Blackburn (Saturday March 15) will be available live in the U.S. and Canada at 10 a.m. ET. It’s on PPV in the U.S. and on Sportsnet in

Canada. This match will most likely be rebroadcast in the U.S. on Fox Sports World later in the week.

-Arsenal vs. Valencia in the Champions League (Wednesday March 19) is available live on Setanta closed-circuit TV. Setanta is available in some bars and pubs in the U.S. and Canada, check www.setanta.com for details.

-Arsenal v. Everton (Sunday March 23) will be available live in the U.S. and Canada at 11 a.m. ET. It’s on PPV in the U.S. and on Fox Sports

World Canada in Canada.

-Arsenal v. Aston Villa (Saturday April 5) will be available live in the U.S. and on a 1-hour delay in Canada. The match is on PPV live in the U.S. at *9 a.m. ET* (special time - it’s normally 10 a.m. ET). In Canada, it’s on Sportsnet beginning at 10 a.m. ET. This match will most likely be rebroadcast in the U.S. on Fox Sports World later in the week.

-Arsenal v. ManUre (either Tuesday April 15 or Wednesday April 16) will be shown live on FSW and FSW Canada at 3 p.m. ET.

    Great work as usual Dan.

Sunday’s broadcast schedule in the US is really curious. First of all, it’s tape-delayed but on PPV. How many people will actually pay money for that? Also, it is scheduled for 11am ET but the Worthless Cup is on at 9am ET. Hmmm. What happens if the game goes to overtime? Are they not going to show the trophy presentation even if someone wins in regulation? I’d put slim odds on the game actually showing up on TV at 11am. Most likely it will be further delayed.

I have Comcrap Cable here, and the Charlton match is listed as the Sunday match. It’s already available for order via the digital cable menu.

It looks like The Worthless Cup is being carried by Setanta, while the Arsenal game is carried by FSW for PPV. So, they can be on back-to-back, but if you go watch at a bar, chances are that the Arsenal game will start before the entire WC broadcast is over.

OK, I think things might be cleared up. Both the Dish Network’s site (http://www.dishnetwork.com/content/programming/ppv/sports_events/single_showing/index.asp?titleID=329&cat=Soccer) and the Dish programming guide have the Charlton match being shown LIVE at 7 a.m. ET. on channels 458 and 472. That makes sense, because it’s a noon kickoff in London. However, soccertv.com still has the match being shown on 4-hour delay. He’s usually extremely accurate, but it’s 2-to-1 against, so I’m setting the VCR for a live broadcast.

  5. dwinkler Says:

OK, it’s about 6 hours from kickoff and I just checked soccertv.com and they have the Charlton game listed as LIVE for Dish and DirecTV. Maybe it’s on the 4-hour delay for other carriers, not sure, but now at least I know when to set the PVR (that’s 5 a.m. my time, 7 a.m. for you East coasters).

Also, looks like they’ve taken away the “tentative” tag from next Saturday’s FA Cup Final, errr, match against Chelsea, for Dish and DirecTV. So that’s set for a 12:15 p.m. KO, $15.95, I’m guessing the same BBC coverage as the ManUre match.
