The Arsenal - Reloaded MARC VIVIEN-FOE……1975-2003 R.I.P
Jun 25

English translation: “I don’t know no nothing.”

Man, a long off-season. And, okay, so I’m sitting here. And, finally, it’s a nice sunny day here in our Nation’s Capital, Arlington, VA. Unlike sunny London Town. But that’s a different story.

So, I says to myself, I says, “I wonder what the heck Becks is up to today…?” So I gets myself on line.

Well, guess what? Real Madrid just hired Carlos Quieroz as their new head coach.

Wait a sec. Is this the same Carlos Quieroz that piloted (and I mean this in the kindest Captain Joseph Hazelwood / Exxon Valdez kind of way) the New York / New Jersey MetroStars to the cellar of the MLS?

Ah, one appreciates Monsieur Wenger all the more after an episode such as this. Indeed.

Perhaps they could also sign the Neville brothers? No, wait - that would actually improve Man U.

If this is the same guy who led my other beloved team, the Metrostars, a few years ago Real Madrid will be in for some trouble. This guy neve made any impact in the MLS so how does Real expect him to lead him to great things over there? This could be the single worst coaching move by a top European cub ever.

Because being “#2 Man to Alex Ferguson” seems to carry some weight in Europe. Besides, it’s all demoralization on Real’s part against Man Utd, trying to get yet another one-up in the Champions League.

Course, in the chaos, it COULD benefit Wenger in the end.

You haven’t been part of the Nation’s Capital for over 150 years! Get your geography right.
