Excuse me if some of this has been already discussed since my last posting but here goes….

Mark Vivien-Foe-a tragic loss of life at such a young age rest in peace. A lion never dies it just rests…

Over the past 2 weeks a few things have caught my attention on the Arsenal forefront and probably the BIGGEST issue at the moment undoubtedly has to be the Vieira story on the club’s official website no less stating that the captain had signed a new deal (along with News of the World adding on too!) to stay at Highbury and within 20 seconds of opening a bottle of Holland’s...

Webmaster Andrew here:

As some may have noticed, we switched to a new server over the weekend. Needless to say, my life has been a bit insane, but I’m finally getting over it.

At your end, you should notice nothing, except a few posts disappeared for a few moments. On my end, I’ve been on the phone to my geeks pretty much non-stop.

Anyway, hang in there if anything weird happens in the next few days. We’ll still be here, still rooting for Arsenal and bringing you the best content we can find.

“The game went well. The result was pretty disappointing but I was pleased to be involved. When I came on for Jeffers, one of the midfielders went up front, Lauren went from right back to midfield, and I played right back. I was pleased with how I did, seeing as it was my first game in a long time.”

“We’ve been doing a lot of running so far, but we have the weekend off to rest our legs.”

I was curious to know if any Gooners listen to games on a short wave radio. I’m starting to investigate a purchase for the sole reason ol listening to Football. The internet broadcasts are dodgy at best and I was looking for an alternative.

Arsenal lose, Taylor gets stretched off. He appears to be ok, but not something you want to see in the first game of the summer.

On a very bright side, Arsenal America hero Frank Simek came on in the second half (65th). I’m not exactly sure where he played as he came on for Francis Jeffers.

This is what bugs me. Wenger and co. have been running around trying desperately to sign a new ‘keeper. He’s publicly announced that he wants to bring in a new ‘keeper. How do you think that makes Stuart Taylor feel?

Now, based on our apparent financial situation, what are the chances that we’re going to bring in Buffon, Casillas, Canizares, etc.? Slim and none, and slim just left the building.

One Arsenal America member has a couple of questions for our friends at THOF…

1) Why did you get rid of David Seaman who only wanted one more season of first team football before he quit the game? For a club that is supposedly known for its decency, the way that you’ve treated this loyal servant of 13 years is disgraceful!!!!!!

Recently Sepp Blatter, head of FIFA, announced he would call for all major domestic leagues to reduce to 16 teams. Great idea.

There are many reasons I barely follow North American sports anymore, one of them is surely the continued expansion of the leagues. Twenty-eight, 30, 32 teams! No wonder the quality of play is so low in the NBA, MLB and NHL, too many teams. Too many players who have no business being at that level. Can you imagine if there were another 10 teams in the Premiership? Good God, how many crap games would there be every season?
