Spurs’ victory against Leeds and draw at Liverpool suggested Glenn Hoddle had turned the corner (AND HE DID, UNFORTUNATELY THERE WAS A MACK TRUCK ON THE OTHER SIDE) — but this comprehensive...

A nice victory today for several reasons.

1. Man City has been playing well and we had to go to their new stadium and face a potent attack with our weakened defense (no Sol).

2. Seaman surely wanted to impress his old employer.

3. Forget the own-goal (which apparently was one of the stranger ones in recent years), Jens Lehmann and the defense didn’t allow a goal.

4. Down early we clawed back to level the score.

5. We kep fighting to get that extra goal.

6. After getting ahead, we didn’t have that lapse and let them back in.

Well done...

Just saw this one today, but it is from last week. Apparently we are snatching up a young Spanish prospect, 16-year old Cesc

He’s part of the Barcelona youth scheme and is was part of Spain’s U-17 team that played in the Championships in Finland.

In yet another adventure, the ever-vigilant G. Rex fights the never-ending battle for Truth, Justice, and the ArsenalAmeica Way!

It was just another ordinary August day here in our Nation’s Capital - blazingly hot and and drippingly humid. I was counting beer bottle caps in the desk drawer of my private investigation firm’s office when she walked in. Tall, blond, and all dolled up. I’ll just call her “The Skirt.”

“Aren’t you a little warm in that wooly green dinosaur get-up?” she started.

“Liquid cooled, sweetheart,”...

Hot off the presses, I’ve just read, “Wenger: The Making of a Legend” by Jasper Rees. Some of you may have seen excerpts recently in the Guardian.

Order this book now from Amazon

Rees, a freelance journalist, certainly put in the effort here to get inside the intensely private Wenger. He followed Wenger’s footsteps from his humble beginnings in the Alsace region of France, to his jobs in Monaco and Japan and then to the Arsenal....

I thought that this was interesting. Pay particular attention to which club he mentions at the end of the article!

Title Looks Beyond Us: Gerrard

Steven Gerrard has admitted that Liverpool are unlikely to win the Premiership title. (AS IT WOULD REQUIRE ACTUALLY SCORING EVERY ONCE IN AWHILE)

We’ve talked about it a lot, but now it appears to be official

Arsenal Football Club have today signed United States international Daniel Karbassiyoon. The 19-year-old striker, who previously played for American side Roanoke, has enjoyed success with both the Under-17 and Under-19 international sides.

I would just like to open this by saying NO, I did NOT put Wolverhampton as a whole for this week, since really they played a pretty good game, and held ManUre to just 1 goal. But there are individuals, oh, yes there are…

The Week 3 Edition of the Geoffrey D. Wessel UCI Award!

THE RUNNERS UP:

* Neil Warnock (Sheffield United): He says he’ll self-impose a higher sentence on himself for being a right arse in 2 high-profile games for the Blades. HE LIKES THE PAIN, YES HE DOES.

* Henri Camara (Wolverhampton): No broadsides of any barns in the Black Country...

It is a rare occasion that an Arsenal game is not covered here in the States. Wednesday was one of those occasions. (many reasons were given , the best one I heard was the proximity of Mars to Earth last night.). No amount of money could have bought live video coverage of the game last night to the States and I’ve asked a few folk and large sums of money were offered to many a drinking hole to get the game live. Alas no cash changed hands.
