Underwhelming Reaction To SAF’s Sending Off We’ve all gone Scottish.
Aug 24

Just watched the game this morning. What a difference a week makes! Last Saturday we scraped three points against Everton when we were down to 10 men early on in a game we should’ve won handsomely. Today, against a very dour Boro’ side, we scored four….could’ve had another six had our finishing been on par, but what pleased me most about today is that we achieved it with the likes of Henry, Wiltord, Pires and Vieira still not 100% fit. God help the rest of the league when hit those four are 100% fit. Are you watching Taggart (Fergie) and Boris (Abramovich)….WHO’S TOP OF THE LEAGUE AT THE MOMENT?:) Got to say Gilberto’s goal was the best out of the bunch with Wiltord’s first coming a close second. Both class finishes. All I can say is…BRING ON THE VILLA!

FANTASTIC total Football by our Arsenal today…
freaking brilliant… I am over the moon with their performance… everyone played well… everyone contributed… I do not think there can be ANY complaints about this one…

This was just like EARLY last season… when we were burying teams early and often… and the games were OVER in the first half hour…

Great pace… great ball movement… solid at the back…(not that we had alot to do defensively)…

If we play like that… we can compete with ANY team in the world… granted Boro is not Real Madrid… but I don’t think they are among the worst in the premiership either…

Do your remember the LEEDS match last year???
this was similar…. the Leeds fans applauded us at match end… we outclassed Boro… can’t wait for the next match!!!!!!!!!!!

I saw the United match as well… and they were good… they toyed with Newcastle at St.James park… Chelsea struggled a bit, but won…
so all in all…… a good weekend for our Arsenal!!!
(and we played with 11 for a full match!!!!!!!)

Got to also give Wiltord man of the match today. Think he just shaded Vieira out for the honour. Thought he looked the absolute business today and took both his goals with aplomb. Have to admit that the manure scum turned it up a notch against the bar codes yesterday in the second half. As for Chelskea…if they can’t turn over crap like Leicester who played with 9 men in the end then I don’t see them being the force everyone reckons they’ll be this season. Coming back to us, today’s match was similar to the performance at Ellland Road last year. What is going to interesting though stag is that we always seem to hit our stride come late September/early October when no one can match us. Looking at our fixtures during that period this year could determine whether we regain the title……

    Sept 21st Manure
    Sept 26th Newcastle
    Oct 4th Liverpool
    Oct 18th Chelsea

I know that the championship is a marathon and not a sprint, but should we get maximum points out of these four games…..boy wouldn’t that set the cat amongst the pigeons!

I unfortunately did not get to watch the match, but reading all sorts of match reports, this was some good stuff. However, this WAS Middlesbrough, and whilst we should never overlook any match, Boro don’t exactly set me quaking with fear.

(Special delivery of THE GAS FACE to Nick Webster of Fox Sports World for predicting a 2-2 draw here. Nigga please :-P )

That 4-match block is going to be one of the pivotal deciding times of this season, and I hope and pray we are up to it. Doing poor at ANY of those matches is going to set us back a ways.

And yeah, Chelski, rah rah…pfft. They were lucky for the own goal, otherwise they would’ve drawn against the minnows. Trust me, there are no less than 4 nominations for this week’s YOU SUCK! Award from that game alone (own goals and red cards are automatic qualifiers)

    wonderful football pure class.
gilberto goal will be a contender for goal of the season

I hear you about Nick Webster, but I’d take him over Max Bretos, Christian Miles and those dipsticks at the Fox Sports World Report…especially that pratt Carlos Machado:P

The ‘month of hell’ starts Sept. 20th. (Man Ure, Newcastle, Chelsea, Liverpool all back to back) It will be extremely difficult to take maximum points. If Sol is out it will be even moreso. Europe starts about that time as well.
Man Utd is still the team to beat. They step up to the competition but I think this year we will match them in effort. No complacency, we will be up for it.
I hope we don’t let down in performance v. Villa. We have a habit of taking a breather after a good performance.
The things I liked were more shots from 20 yds out. Crosses in the air with the attempt at heading goals and Gilberto and Paddy going forward in the middle adding to the attack and giving us an option we didn’t see last year.

Hey man, don’t you be playa hatin on Max. True, he also does rugby, but I forgive him for that. He’s a fine exciting commentator, IMO, and he’s better than the schmucks who do A League/MLS coverage. Ick.

Carlos is…OK. A bit hard to understand. I wish they’d let Bobby McMahon announce the games sometimes….

I’ve got to admit Maxie knows his stuff and I’ve spoken to some people out here in L.A who’ve met him and say he’s an OK guy, but when he puts on that fake Scottish accent, he makes me cringe:P

Carlos Machado on the other hand just does my head in. The way he butchers the names of all the teams and personalities is diabolical. Plus when he refers to a drawn game as ‘ended in a score of 1′ instead of saying the match ended in a 1-1 draw makes me want to put my size 13 through the TV screen! In fact I wish they just let Bobby McMahon do the show on his own as the Machado and the other anchors are about as much use a bacon sandwich at a barmitzvah!

I even wrote to Fox Sports World and asked them if they could swap Bobby for that Irish plonker Tommy Smyth at ESPN as I felt that Smyth would feel at home at the Fox Sports World Report as like the anchors on the show he knows sweet F.A. about football also!

I’d like to see McMahon host a pre-game show before the LIVE EPL games that are shown out here. Think it would go down well. I hate it when DirecTV just starts the transmission as the game is about to kick-off.

  9. stag133 Says:

Is Bobby McMahon that wanker with Irish accent??
after he commented on Sunday night… I was scouring the FoxSportsWorld website to find a way to EMAIL him…. he was going on about ManU and how Arsenal have NO REASON to think they are being done hard by the FA… that the 51 red cards speak for themselves….

I wanted to give him…??? perhaps (10) examples over the last 3 years… that show the double standard / bias against us… and why we might… perhaps… just possibly THINK the FA has it in for ARSENAL…

give me Lionel Bienvenue any day…
    whatever happened to him??

Roll on VILLA…. (and ROLL OVER THEM!)

  10. Galaxy_Gooner Says:

Lionel Bienvenue??? Think he’s still having wet dreams about Nicky Butt and David Beckham:)lol
