A nice victory today for several reasons.
1. Man City has been playing well and we had to go to their new stadium and face a potent attack with our weakened defense (no Sol).
2. Seaman surely wanted to impress his old employer.
3. Forget the own-goal (which apparently was one of the stranger ones in recent years), Jens Lehmann and the defense didn’t allow a goal.
4. Down early we clawed back to level the score.
5. We kep fighting to get that extra goal.
6. After getting ahead, we didn’t have that lapse and let them back in.
Well done boys.

Forget the own goal HELL, Lauren’s got a nomination for this week’s award
I have nothing to say since I didn’t actually see the match (stupid FSW making me wait til WEDNESDAY!) but I did catch the Soccernet Gamecast….and, well, let’s just say, read this aloud and say “Ewwww!”:
72nd Minute - “Wiltord gets around the back. Pires shanks it before Ljungberg is smothered in Seaman.”
And lest we forget, THE SCUM LOST TO SOTON! HA HA HA HA HA!!!

a perfect record for the good guys… AND
United lose to Soton!!!!!
this is the type of match that got away from us at the end of last season…. a win without Sol….
is a good win any day…..
a win on the road is always a beautiful thing!!!!
4 and 0 start……… fantastic !!!!!!!!

Lehmann looks extremely solid. If it wasn’t for a freakish own goal, I think he would have kept a 3rd successive clean sheet. There was consternation in some quarters when we brought him, but so far he’s proving yet again that “Wenger knows.”

and Arsene’ knows Kolo is acceptable at CB too!
so far, so good with that experiment.
As long as BOTH Sol and Martin can stay healthy
and away from being banned… we have Kolo and Cygan as cover at CB… that will do for now!

I was at work (at the soccer shop) and Tony (my Italian ref boss) had FSW on for the matchday review, and I screamed at Lauren’s O.G., and then yet again at Keown’s near-equalizer, but most of my attention was on the Chelski match, and Mutu (Tony’s a fan of the blue). When Arsenal play Chelsea, that will be a good match. But it was good to see David again, and I wish Sol had been in the match, as he might have thrown Anelka an elbow or two. All in all, a good win, and Soton beat United, so… Hey, Fergie! we’re 4-0-0 AND 3 points up, you drunk bastard!

Lauren was pushed in the back as he was about to kick it wide, as the replays show however, I still fault him because he kept the ball too long, he should have gotten rid of it before the opposition could get to him. Lehman is turning out to be a huge signing. I still see it as an un-official clean sheet for him.
Two things I noticed regarding this game that bodes well for the future.
1. Wenger is showing more emotion (ala his half time speech) and the players are responding. Fergie is too emotional but I think that Wenger is not emotional enough at times. Its still a game that has a lot of psychology to it and I’m glad to see he gave them a talking to in his type of way. Freddie said that this game was the type they may have lost last year and I think had we barely won the title we’d have the complacency and over confidence of last year. This year is a more serious squad.
The second thing is the attack. We are changing it a little. Pires is drifting out of position and sometimes playing a playmaker role like he did this summer for France. Also, Vieira and Silva will make the odd run forward when they choose their spots and that diversifies the attack. We’ll go undefeated and probably a clean sheet v. Portsmouth leading into the Man Utd game. I will take a draw at OT, a win is of course nice but a draw will be good especially if Campbell is suspended. We’ll see the best of our players in that game. They are still bitter about last year and that is a good thing right now.

OK, actually now having seen the match:
1) Lauren still is in the running for this week’s Award. Even if he was pushed, he had no business holding onto the ball that long and then trying to pass so close to the net. CLEAR, SCHMUCK, CLEAR! And THEN, later on, Lauren was involved in the play that almost resulted in ANOTHER own-goal, but thankfully bounced off the crossbar away from the net. Hmm, go figure.
2) David Seaman can suck it. His jump for joy after the own-goal just really drove home how little respect the guy has for the club that, you know, MADE him and all. Hope he enjoyed the two against him.
