The Second Annual ArsenalAmerica Roadtrip to Highbury is on the calendar!
I’ve just returned from a meeting with Arsenal and have been given permission to plan our second annual roadtrip to Highbury. The dates and games are as follows:
Wednesday, December 10 — Arsenal v. Locomotive Moscow
Sunday, December 14 — Arsenal v. Blackburn.
This could be our most important UEFA Champions League game of the season (or entirely meaningless). In addition, it will give us a chance to watch US International Brad Friedel in action at Highbury as he is Blackburn’s...

The Sun reports Arsenal have been hit with a 500k fine for the ManUtd game. Guess they didn’t want to take the points away as they know we can still win it all even with them deducting points.

Still buzzing from Sunday? Get ready because we have an early weekend match against another top four opponent. What was that? Newcastle are nearly on the bottom with only the hapless Wolves holding them up? 3 points in five matches and winless?! Surely you jest! Their record says it all, 0 wins, 3 draws and 2 loses and only 3 points. Something is wrong in Toon Town and if you know what it is, Im sure Sir Robson will listen as he seems about as lost as anyone.

Live under a rock? Just awoke from a coma? Here’s Martin with a recap…
(Note:”That Was The Week That Was” was a 1960’s comedy review that poked fun at the major news stories of the week that was a huge hit in England and had a brief run in America in the wake of Beatlemania and the love affair with all things English that followed the Fab Four’s arrival. Webmaster Andrew has just informed me that there was a problem with my email addy (rick@arsenalamerica.com). So, no, I wasn’t blowing you off, I didn’t get your email.
Best idea, send me a private message (see lower left on this page). That is secure, works, and I check it regularly.
My apologies. We’re looking into the problem but suspect it was caused by RvN. G. Rex, you may need to check this out.

Just a quick thank you for all the passionate discourse on the site the last couple of days. Monday was our second biggest day ever.
I encourage all viewpoints to continue to speak out. One of the things that makes this site, and Arsenal fans in general, interesting is the intelligent discussions we have. Let’s keep that up and here’s to hoping the team gives us a performance we can all agree on on Friday.

Just a reminder in case anyone has forgotten. Newcastle at home on friday night. Look forward, not back.
–Well said Kelvin. This could be a real springboard for the club. Newcastle are foundering and ripe for the picking. A professional 3-nil drubbing would do wonders for the team and the fans.

Dan Winkler chimes in on recent events…
Regardless of the ejection and post-match scrap, yesterday’s game should be remembered as the game that marked Arsene Wenger’s new-found tactical awareness. A master team-builder but certainly not a master tactician, Wenger finally took the initiative to change the team in response to his opponent’s style of play, and it paid off in a valuable road point against the defending champions. Now, I’m not advocating following Tony Adams’s rather clueless suggestion of starting Ray Parlour in all our road games, but...
