Another subpar performance in Europe. We now sit bottom of the table. A bit embarrasing really. It’s going to take some real work for us to progress to the next round.
This blows.

Its as if a different team shows up for CL matches… WTF is wrong with us when we play in the CL…… it makes NO SENSE!!!!!!!!!

The way we’ve been playing in the CL makes us look like a bunch of clowns. We’re the best team in the EPL (and anywhere else as far as I’m concerned) and every time we play international clubs we play POOR offensively and let the opposition have way too much control over the match. I’m almost glad that we even scored that one goal. We have alot of work still to do.

A very disappointing result. I didn’t see the game but the reports I’ve read say that Arsenal were unlucky and twice hit the bar but that counts for nothing. It seems that it’s a confidence problem and after winning something like 1 out their last 10 CL games they desperately need some luck.
The only slim hope is that last year year Newcastle lost their first three games and still qualified so it’s not over yet.

I really honestly can’t find it in me to care about the Champs League. I don’t know what it is, but I just don’t care. Don’t get me wrong, I’d love to see us win, and I’m as frustrated as the rest of you lot with ManUre’s ability to do so well, but I can’t find it in me to get up for these matches.

This is like asking….WHAT IS THE MEANING OF LIFE? We’ve got a team that consists of………..
3 World Cup winners
3 Euro 2000 winners
4 players who have won the Double twice
2 players who has won the FA Cup four times
2 players who have won a League Cup
We annilihate the opposition week in, week out in the Premier League (supposedly the best league in the world). Yet when it comes to playing mickey mouse outfits from the behind the Iron Curtain who don’t even have a pot to piss in…..we play like we were that crap from N17! What the hell is going on AW?

Like OPArsenal, I don’t get worked up about the CL. I travel Europe watching them. So I care, to a degree, I just don’t get angry anymore.
However, the EPL is different. It would really piss me off if we as bad.
Can’t explain the reason behind it, that’s the way it is for me.
Anyway, I hear The Arse are going to resort to cheating. Apparently we are going to play the first team in the Carling (Littlewoods, coca-cola, Millk, Rumbelows, Worthington or whoever is the sponsor) Cup from now on!

Not being able to win away in Eastern Europe doesn’t bother me so much as the home destruction by Inter.
I’m glad we finally got a goal this year though, that was really bugging me. We all know if you can’t score you can’t win, so I do consider it a small victory in that regard.
A half-full perspective: if we can claw our way out of the mess we’re in and make it to the next round, our momentum would be something to be reckoned with..
