Wow, wouldn’t it be great if we had our very own Russian billionaire, just like Chelsea? Well, according to this story, we just might: Three and a half months after billionaire Roman Abramovich bought Chelsea, another Russian tycoon is planning to buy into London rivals Arsenal, a British newspaper reported on Sunday.
The Independent on Sunday said Vladimir Potanin, an oil and mining magnate, was considering investing up to 120 million pounds ($203 million) on a new stadium for Arsenal in return for a share of the club.
But is that a good thing? Potential problems at Chelsea: Russian tycoon Roman Abramovich is facing the prospect of being dragged into a ?2 billion court battle in the US that could damage his ambitious plans for Chelsea.
