Nice to see the former Sp*rs boss being so tactful about his dismissal. Sorry for the length, but this was too good to pass up. MY COMMENTS IN CAPS.

Glenn Hoddle today launched a stinging attack on Tottenham caretaker-manager David Pleat, insisting he should be given the job on a permanent basis because any incoming new boss will be unable to work with him as director of football. (JUST LIKE NO PLAYERS COULD WORK WITH HIM AS MANAGER)

Hoddle, sacked as manager of Spurs last month, believes Pleat would be ‘obstructive’ to whoever is appointed as his successor,...

Wow, wouldn’t it be great if we had our very own Russian billionaire, just like Chelsea? Well, according to this story, we just might: Three and a half months after billionaire Roman Abramovich bought Chelsea, another Russian tycoon is planning to buy into London rivals Arsenal, a British newspaper reported on Sunday.

The Independent on Sunday said Vladimir Potanin, an oil and mining magnate, was considering investing up to 120 million pounds ($203 million) on a new...

Charlton Manager Alan Curbishley has done such a fine job with the Addicks that rumors abound that he may get the open Spurs job. Well, if thats my reward I’d have none of that. Players and fans alike are pleading for the Charlton boss to stay and he has assured them he will, but it is nice to see him get some recognition that is overdue. With little or no real names, Curbishley has molded a club that is certian to survive and end around mid-table. Now he has moved in some talent, raised the game of some old reliables and poses a real threat to the Gunners.

I’m no expert, this doesn’t sound good…“Concern about the financial position of Tottenham Hotspur escalated yesterday after the sudden departure of the the Premiership club’s finance director, Paul Viner, only days before the deadline to issue their financial results.

I believe the term used by Islington economists is: HA HA!

A (too) long time coming. If you are in Chicago, you must go to…

Gingers Ale House
corner of Grace and Ashland Chicago IL.

Without a doubt the best place in Chicago for a Gooner to catch live
matches.I have yet to find a place anywhere in the states that gets such a
great turnout for Arsenal matches. The Gooner contingent percentage
varies,depends on the game of course,between 50%(ManUre,Chelski)and
95%(bolton,villa,boro) with virtually all matches live and league games are
free!

Gingers has a great atmosphere,with...

Ok, if I understand correctly, Patrick Kluivert can be had for a song (1.5 mil). I’m sure his personal terms are quite high though.

Now, in the interest of full disclosure I’ll say that he is one of my top 3 favorite players so I’m biased, but I think we should try to nab this guy. He’s a different player than Henry and we desperately need a proven goal-scorer to partner with Titi.

Thoughts?

Another subpar performance in Europe. We now sit bottom of the table. A bit embarrasing really. It’s going to take some real work for us to progress to the next round.

This blows.

After watching the baseball tonight I logged onto Soccernet and saw this breaking story. They’ve already named a replacement who last coaching job ironically was with AC Milan. So he won’t have any trouble finding where the stadium is:)lol Wonder if this a good thing for Arsenal in relation to qualifying for the knock-out stages of the Champions League? As you may know those of us that live out here in the U.S. get two EPL games shown on Sundays. The LIVE game at 11am EST/8am PST is the one that Sky Sports shows as its main match of the weekend. This is then followed at 2pm EST/11am PST by a taped delayed broadcast of the match that was played earlier that same day. Now as you probably know when one watches the LIVE game Ian Darke who provides the commentary always gives away the score of the earlier game before it’s shown out here, which basically ruins it for me to watch the second game as I would prefer not to hear the result so that...

Former Guner Steve Morrow has been named and Assistant Coach of the Dallas Burn, but on the down side of it, he has been forced to retire.

On 3rd Degree(http://www.3rddegree.net/index.htm) reports “I won’t be playing in the last two games,” the veteran defender said, “and I will be retiring at the end of the season. It is a tough decision to make, but doctors have told me I would need to get fusion surgery on my neck to attempt to continue playing and that is not something I want to do. I thought about it and it’s just not something I want to do. It’s...
