Quoth soccernet.com:
“JP McManus and John Magnier now own almost a quarter of Manchester United’s shares after buying BSkyB’s stake in the club today.”

Am I the only one who found that last little bit of this little bit of news troubling? I’ve been having so much fun pointing out the obvious conflict of interest in Sky owning part of ManUre. I mean, it was one of the greatest Arsenal v. the world arguments Gooners had at their disposal. Now, it seems we have to go back to thinking the FA is out to get us just for the hell of it. ...

A very big ‘thank you’ to those that have contributed to the Arsenal America flag fund. We’ve raised a nice amount. I spoke with the gentleman from the flag company today and told him what we were looking for.

It’s going to be a 5′ x 10′ banner with the St. George’s cross. Top left quadrant will be the US flag, bottom right quadrant will be the Canadian flag. Across the red strip in the middle it will say ‘Arsenal America’. The US & Canadian flags are high quality and stitched on, not some crummy silk screen job. He went on...

Gutty. Inspiring. An important game, down early, they never gave up and rallied for the victory. Now, with Pedro on the mound I like the Red Sox? chances tonight.

Yes, I?m a Red Sox fan too. Pretty good weekend. 7:30am eastern on Saturday and the Arsenal do the business. 7:30pm eastern on Saturday and the Sox do the business, just barely. Then the Sox come back on Sunday to eek out another win.

I must say I?m really impressed with how the Arsenal have responded after getting played off the pitch by Inter Milan. I thought they were about to enter a downward spiral of poor performances...

YES, After all thats gone on over the last month or so, ARSENAL are still top of the league.

The performance against the scoucers is what we’re all about when we are on top of our team game, defending from the front and closing down quickly from the midfield.

You may notice a new area in the upper right-hand corner of the site. We?ve put up a PayPal link. Here?s the deal:

As we gear up for our second trip to Highbury I?d really like for us to have a Arsenal America banner. Not a ?black spray paint on white bedsheet? deal, but a real, honest to God English-style football stadium banner. I?ve spoken to a company in England, Barmy Flags, that makes them and we?re looking at a price in the neighborhood of US$300.

The flag would be the St. George cross style (white with...

Wenger is looking to spend when the transfer window opens in January. Looking for two strikers and shoring up some other areas as well.

Earlier this season the press were stumbling over themselves trying to write the “Arsenal Stadium Project Won’t Happen and Arsenal are Going Down Because of it” story.

Now that the project looks to be a go when will we start seeing the “We spoke to soon, look out for Arsenal now” stories?

We won’t see those of course. The press will have conveniently forgotten they wrote those earlier stories. But we know. We know that everyone hates us, but...

Ever wondered how teams choose the colours they wear?

Arsenal wear red because when they started out two players with connections to Nottingham Forest supplied the kit.

We’re closing in on the closing day for the ArsenalAmerica roadtrip. We have about 16 people signed up, some for both games, and some for one or the other. We have folks from Canada to DC to San Francisco all making the trek, and there is still room for a few more.

If you are on the fence, take a look at last year’s Roadtrip photos to see what you may be missing. Airfares are cheap, and hotel bargains are there to be found. Several folks are planning on other soccer games on the free Saturday,...
