I just wonder how long AW will continue fielding our reserves and youngsters in this competition? I seem to remember that the last time we had a decent run in this tournament five years ago, he started with the kids in the early rounds, but once we made the quarter-finals, he changed his philosophy by playing our complete first team. Wonder if we get within sight of Cardiff again whether he’ll do the same?

I hope we progress far enough to find that out!
If we are lucky enough to still be in the Champions League…. then Arsene will not waste much effort on any of our stars… (unless they are rusty or coming back from injury)
I like the idea of fielding 5 or 6 kids…
a few players who have seen time in actual, meaningful league matches… (Aliadaire / Stepanovs)… and a couple of REAL starters…
(Kanu / Wiltord etc etc)
If we fall out of the CL….. I would imagine we’d take this a bit more seriously, as any trophy is better than nothing!
I am VERY interested in the Carling Cup matches because I like to see the kids… I view it as fun!
