BIG SOCCER RADIO A trip to Ireland
Nov 17

1. Michael Moore is over here doing the round of chat shows to publicise his latest book/film/self promotion, whatever. He has admitted to being a gooner and was at the Arse v Scum game. He will forever remember the sight and sound of 30,000 of the ugliest men he?s ever come across singing in unison ?we love you Freddie, cos you?ve got red hair?. A magical experience.

2. Nothing to do with football.

Three men died on Christmas Eve and were met by Saint Peter at the pearly gates.

“In honor of this holy season,” Saint Peter said, “you must each possess something that symbolizes Christmas to get into heaven.”

The first man fumbled through his pockets and pulled out a lighter. He flicked it on. It represents a candle, he said. You may pass through the pearly gates Saint Peter said.

The second man reached into his pocket and pulled out a set of keys. He shook them and said, “They’re bells” . Saint Peter said you may pass through the pearly gates.

The third man started searching desperately through his pockets and finally pulled out a pair of women’s panties. St. Peter looked at the man with a raised eyebrow and asked, “And just what do those symbolize?”
The man replied, “They’re Carols”.

3. On a more serious note, George Bush is visiting Britain over the next few days and will be met with extremely hostile protests wheverever he goes. Do not for one moment think the British are anti-American, we are not, We just don?t like Bush or Blair.

Who do you think is best bet for the Gunners.

Having Bush as cover for Herny will help us win the FA Cup. If we can have him as the Manager for the rest of the season I bit we will win the double including the Champ. League and hey the Reserve might also win the League Cup. Good Bet.

Micheal Moore will help get Spurs out of trouble. You get it right.. Good

  2. AmericanGooner Says:

Seems we may get more celebrity Gooners. Going to an Arsenal match is the thing to do in the capital (although I fear Chelsea’s emergence may change that and in the west end at that, a more posh locale).
Anyway, Freddie Prinze Jr became a Gooner last year as well I hear after he went to the Arsenal v. W. Ham game. He got caught up in the singing. He mentioned that after the Hammers got a man sent off and then scored, they were singing ‘we’ve only got 10 men’ and the Gooners responded ‘you’ve only got 10 points’.

As for Bush. England is probabl the ONLY country in that area that I think is truly America’s friend and any disagreements is out of respect for what they believe is best. But I think the English don’t care for Republican administrations for the most part. Reagan wasn’t popular either and not sure if Bush41 was.

  3. kelvin Says:

More American Gooners: David Soul of Starsky & Hutch now lives in London and is a regular over THOF. The most famous AmeriGooner must be Kevin Costner. I have an interview from 1998 cup final declaring his love of the Gunners.

However, there is no truth to the rumour that he walking around Ashburton Grove saying ” If you build it ….”

  4. BarnetFCGunner Says:

I dont think for a minute my fellow Brits are Anti-America. They are Anti- Bush and I agree with them.. Off the recond Blair is more of Repulican than the Tory party but people still like him aprt from going to Iraq. Sad and Wrong.

One thing for sure. With Bush as the Manager I can see Arsenal ending the game with 1 or 2 players on the field. Send him to Spurs Please.

  5. asfoolasiam Says:

“I think the English don’t care for Republican administrations for the most part.”

Yeah. I must have hallucinated that whole Thatcher thing.

  6. love_Gunners Says:

    Ok, Guys/ladies

Let me say we Brits are not Anti-America or Anti Republican. I dont believe in the right or left wing and that is what is happening in Western Europe.
Most Americans feel the same. Bush writing in the Sun is just a big joke of all time. What the sun is not the national paper. Just to read the back pages.

We can change the world by making profit of the poor. Simple. That is why I can say we dont like Bush. Where does it stop. No more excuses. Charity begin at home.

  7. AmericanGooner Says:

While England elected Thatcher, a Tory and ideologically closer to the Republicans than Democrats are you trying to say during her reign that Reagan was looked at favorably? Just because a Tory was popular doesn’t exactly translate into a Republican President being liked as well.

  8. AmericanGooner Says:

Americans do not regard the English as Anti-American, I would even go as far to say Americans see the English as their closest ally, even closer than Canada. Any English disagreements is on a specific action which is fair. Friends do not always agree on everything.

  9. Shibby13 Says:

Michael Moore is a liberal moron who has no class and is the most self-promoting idiot ever. But now I have some more respect for him!

  10. Shibby13 Says:

There’s a full list of celebrity gooners here…

  11. Shibby13 Says:

Not that I have anything against liberals I just think some radicals (Rush Limbaugh also) take it a little too far.

  12. love_Gunners Says:

Well Liberals can be a pain in the @@@ at time But right wings like Rush Limbaugn, Bill O’reilly are all anti anything that is not white. Just listen to these people when they talk.

As Sir David Frost mention, Brits are not liberals just that Yanks “neo-Conversative” have a very white right wing crazy ideals that sometime scare me. Ie - Iraq and the World in general - So called Old Europe. Saddam was bad but there are 1000’s of Saddams we do business with.

That is what most Brit dont get. Treat them equal and maybe we might have peace

  13. AmericanGooner Says:

I am not a conservative or a liberal but what the hell is this ‘neo-conservative’ catch phrase that Liberals are throwing around lately? The one thing I don’t like about the left is they immediately play the race card for any person right of center. Look how many high level Blacks are in the Bush admin.? Oh, I forgot, the left only want Blacks that agree with them. As for the right, as soon as they seperate themselves from companies getting corporate welfare and subsidies, the more respect they’ll get. And also, to do what they do best, control the country’s spending and not trying to impose morality and legislate morality.
People on both sides label a whole half of the nation as such and such but the people they know personally who are of the opposite party are never like that. Bill O’Reilly is no more of a racist as Ted Kennedy.

  14. love_Gunners Says:

    True,
The left or right wing all used race in this country as in England.

As a black person being black does not mean you can not be racist. My point to the first question, was a few “neo-conversative” with some crazy ideas have a very very right wing ideas which bothers me. And I’m not talking about race here.

You read about what they stand for at times. Of course you have some hard core crazy Left wings as well.

    Anyway back to football.
    Looking forward to B’ham

  15. BarnetFCGunner Says:

    End of this Guy.

Liberals believes people should be free to lead their lifes but these so-called Right wings do nothing but tell others how to lead their life. Ie Bill / Rush -
Rush talk like he is clean as a bird but we all know him now with his drugs and money problems.

The media is source of education and information, if people think foxnews is doing a good job then good for them

    Agree or Disagree

  16. AmericanGooner Says:

“Liberals believes people should be free to lifes…”
Liberals don’t want me to drive an SUV, some don’t want me to eat meat and even go as far as banning meat and the cultivation of cows, sheep, etc. for human consumption. I am forced to attend a public school if I live in the inner city and am denied vouchers. I can not own a gun, a right given me under the constitution. Yep, Liberals sure do want to give me the freedom to live the way I want.

And one half of the nation wants to force you to live their way?

Not saying right wing are better, but neither party is perfect. At least acknowledge both have issues and its a ‘lesser of two evils’ choice, than a clear cut good v. evil.

Okay, back to football: Hoyte, Toure`, Campbell and Cole in the back 4, Pires, Edu, Kanu, Ljundberg in midfield.

  17. Shibby13 Says:

I’m only a senior in high school but I know once I get a job out of college I am going to want to keep my hard earned money rather than giving it to people who don’t do anything with their lives. Americangunner i right, choosing a party is a lesser of two evils deal, both have obvious flaws.

As for soccer, I am psyched to finally be able to see an Arsenal game live on ESPN2 Tuesday aganst Inter. I just wish that moron Tommy Smyth who does the commentating admits to Arsenal being better than Manure so far this year.
