Arsenal v. Inter Milan Preview Arsenal Club Manager 2003-04
Nov 23

Great victory yesterday. Birmingham are not chumps and the team absolutely took care of business.

This could easily have been one of those games from last season where we coasted with a 1-nil lead and gave up a late equaliser. Instead we continued to pressure and got two late goals.

Freddie seems to be coming around in scoring form again, grabbing another goal. DB10 and Pires also on the score sheet.

The team will only succeed if we get production from those three in addition to Henry so that was very encouraging as well.

Several players out with injury and suspensions and we didn’t miss a beat.

HUGE game on Tuesday, but they didn’t let themselves get caught looking ahead.

I’ve often faulted Wenger for not getting the team properly motivated (more so in Europe than domestically) but he clearly had the team focused for this one.

I’m still not sold on our European efforts, but right now I firmly believe this team can win the league. It’s going to come down to who blinks first, Man United, Chelsea or us.

Critical to keep up the pressure through the new year. Then, if everyone gets healthy and back from suspension, and we can add a key player when the transfer window opens I would be very excited.

Overall, again, a tremendous game. It seems I forgot that this team has only lost 2 games so far this season. Don’t know how many other teams, in all of Europe, can make that claim. Well done Wenger, well done lads!

    Our Arsenal deserve HUGE accolades…
we just accomplished the BEST START OF A SEASON in the HISTORY of the PREMIERSHIP…
    with 13 matches undefeated…

    we’ve had Viera out for a while… various injuries…
and we still have fought hard…..and not lost once.

We have beaten Chelsea…. Newcastle…. Liverpool… and drew at United… me thinks we have a leg up in that respect with our main competitors.

Tuesday should be VERY DIFFICULT and prove interesting… I’d like to see us pull out a huge and historic win at Milan….. that might prove too tall an order……

but great job by all on Saturday…. from the 18yr.old Clichy…. to Bergy still showing he has something to offer….. fantastic!!!!!!!!!!!

Magnificent performance. This game had all the makings of an upset, thank God the players have a greater belief in their abilities than we do at times.

I’m not concerned about Tuesday, what will be, will be.

Sunday will be interesting, home to Fulham and it should be another 3 points, but ManUre and Chelski face each other so one of them, hopefully both, will drop points.

I agree with everyone else. A great, clinical, professional performance. Freddie contines to improve and is getting back to his best but I was also pleasantly surprised by Cygan. He’s been rightly criticised in the past for some appalling performances but he didn’t put a foot wrong on Saturday.

A big win for us. The great thing so far this season is that we are off to a phenominal start without playing close to our best and with Vieira. That seems to be lost on everyone. This is the kind of start that would have been apropos last season. Just imagine with Vieira back and if we pick up a quality striker in January? Fulham will be a tricky game. Its a derby and a good side and it will come after an emotional and physically draining Euro game. Its a derby against a side that domnated Man Utd at OT. That has the makings of an upset. I think a draw is the more likely outcome. The table should change this weekend with Chelsea hosting Man Utd but I have a feeling all 3 clubs will draw.

    ????
    REALLY?
I just know that if Fulham play the open style football that they are accustomed to playing…
we will run them off the pitch…
if they close down and play defensively it will be interesting to see if we can break them down…
    I don’t see Fulham as a threat… I don’t think they will beat us… and I would be DISSAPOINTED with at draw…

I just hope they come to play…
as opposed to playing not to lose…
