This was the first Arsenal game I have been able to watch live all year seeing as though I do not get Fox Sports World on Comcast, so I would finally like to contribute a game review. All I have to say is what a brilliant game it was. Henry was absolutely magnificent and the defense played a very stellar game.
Our midfield strung some good passes together from time to time, even without Viera, and I think we had about 55% of the possession. Our defense was very solid, including Cygan who played the best game I have ever seen him play in an Arsenal uniform. The one Inter goal that tied it at 1-1 in the first half could have been saved by Lehmann but I will not be too hard on him since he played a good match the rest of the time, holding on to balls and covering his ground well. Henry started off the scoring with a strike of about 20 yards after a give and go with Ashley Cole that may have deflected off a defender. Inter then tied it and at the break it was 1-1. Henry started of the second half in good form again, feeding Ljungberg for the second goal. It was tense towards the end of the game with Inter pressuring, but a quick counterattack led to another Henry goal. Inter then fell apart and Pires and Edu added tallies late at the end of the game, which were more important than it might seem. Since we won 5-1, we now hold a 5-4 aggregate score against Inter, meaning if we tie on points in this group, we will go through. Sorry for the long article, but this was the best thing we could have hoped for and I am glad I took the time to watch this over finishing some of my college applications. Man of the Match was without a doubt Henry as he contributed directly in 4 of the 5 goals. He played with pure class and displayed a wide variety of skills and moves. Cheers!
