Fulham Preview Greetings from Portugal
Nov 28

Sunday is a big day in the Premiership with Chelsea hosting ManU and Arsenal hosting Fulham. Since ManU or Chelsea or both will drop points it’s an opportunity for Arsenal to extend their lead at the top of the table.

We’re still without Lauren for this one so Cygan will probably play again but this shouldn’t be a problem given his good performances in the last 2 games.

More of a concern is the possibility that Henry will not play. He got a slight injury in the Inter game and was about to be substituted just before he scored his second goal. The news is that Wenger may decide to rest him rather than risk a more serious injury. If this happens then since Wiltord is injured maybe Aliadiere will play alongside Bergkamp.

I’m wondering if Arsene won’t go with Kanu/Bergkamp up front, as both have played well lately. Don’t get me wrong, I’d love to see Aliadiere get some playing time. But I’m not sure that we should do it now. If anything, we need to keep the momentum going and avoid a big letdown against a team that already beat Man U at OT earlier in the year.

I doubt we’ll see a Kanu/Bergkamp partnership up front. Both are support type strikers. AW will look for a lead striker with pace. He loves speed. Henry, Wiltord and Aliadiere are who we have that fit that bill so I think It will be the either of the two and with either Henry or Aliadiere. If we’re behind or draw and need a game winner, we’ll throw everyone at them which will probably include Henry, Aliadiere, Kanu and Bergkamp possibly.
