Yeah sure, it may be a bit early, but this party’s starting right in welcoming Leeds to Division 1 football, where they frankly belonged LAST year, but were it not for a lucky win at OUR expense…
Bitter? Damn right I’m still bitter about that.

Was it just me or did anyone else experience the blackout that happened during the Spertz game this morning when DirecTV lost the feed 10 minutes into the match for about five minutes. One minute TH14 was heading towards the scum goal, then all off a sudden a blank screen with music playing in the background! It would be nice to actually watch an EPL game without DirecTV, Setanta, Fox Sports World, ESPN or anyone else who covers the matches ballsing things up for us!
It wasn’t easy, but Arsenal managed a victory with goals from Pires and Freddie.
Spurs grabbed an early lead, but a determined Gunners side kept pushing and grabbed all three points.
From listening to the radio broadcast, Lauren was horrid.
GIRL’S DIARY
Saw John in the evening and he was acting really strangely. I went shopping in the afternoon with the girls and I did turn up a bit late so I thought it might be that. The bar was really crowded and loud so I suggested we go somewhere quieter to talk. He was still very subdued and distracted so I suggested we go somewhere nice to eat.
All through dinner he just didn’t seem himself; he hardly laughed, and didn’t seem to be paying any attention to me or to what I was saying. I just knew that something was wrong. He dropped me back home and I wondered...

This may be the shortest Preview on record. Why? Well, honestly, there’s very little to say about Spurs. Problem is I swore that I would try to keep from making fun of Spurs and leave that to Rick and his ” Comments in CAPS.” If I refrain from poking fun then it leaves little to say. Tottenham is a bad team. Sloppy, uninspired and rotting from within. They come off a truly uninspired loss to Bolton in which Bolton got their first win at White Hart Lane in 44 years. They opened the season with one of the worst starts in club history. To beat all they find salvation in a caretaker...

Despite his preference in EPL teams, John Thompson is really a decent guy. Here’s his look at this weekend’s match…
Dazed and Confused?
Tottenham vs. Arsenal Preview
For us Spurs Supporters, the game on Saturday vs. the arch-enemy reminds me of a visit to the dentist. You?re excited for a potential good end result-no cavities and a clean sheet-but you?re dreading being found with 5 cavities and getting drilled 4-0. Even though some supporters will say that David Pleat has done a good job, Spurs are only 4 points off the drop zone and one does not need...

I just wonder how long AW will continue fielding our reserves and youngsters in this competition? I seem to remember that the last time we had a decent run in this tournament five years ago, he started with the kids in the early rounds, but once we made the quarter-finals, he changed his philosophy by playing our complete first team. Wonder if we get within sight of Cardiff again whether he’ll do the same?
Last week I posted an item about the World Soccer Weekly radio show and the hosts. I noted that they were giving the Arsenal the business and I pointed out that fans of Chelsea should probably find someone else to pick on. Well one of you forwarded my item to the hosts Nick and Steve. Steve (the Chelsea fan) sent his reply to me. Here it is with, of course, MY COMMENTS IN ALL CAPS?
Rick…someone from the Gooner nation forwarded me the piece you wrote on Arsenal America and was concerned that we had pissed you off some how as if you are David Dein or Arsene Wenger or Roman Abromovich...

Ashley Cole heads home in the 88th minute. Arsenal win 1-nil over Kiev.
The Group looks like this
Inter: 7 points
Moscow: 6
Kiev: 5
Arsenal: 4
Arsenal reserves lost to Watford 2-nil
Simek and Karbassiyoon both were on the teamsheet but weren’t mentioned in the match report. A good sign to see them both in the mix though. Also nice to see Wenger giving kids, and they are kids, playing time in the reserves. In fact the squad featured several players yet to see their 20th birthdays.
