I don’t think we’ve ever had as many comments on any posting as the Spurs one below. 35 at last count.
Personally, I really don’t care about Spurs. It’s a no-win for us, so they can go down for all I care.

I dont think any one cares less about Spursz and so do I. They are Sh$$$ and going down but whether agree or not Spursz are Arsenal Rivals whether in Div one, Ryman or Dr Martins league..
True they are soo bad at the moment as a team to be compare with Arsenal but the history is always going to be there..
And to prove my point after yesterdays win at St Mary the times and Guardian newspapers have article about the two north london rivals..
Please also check the Enfield News if you have the time.

No matter how bad they are they play us tough. Even when we beat them its a hard fought game. So, i’d love for them to go down for a year or two and we play a promoted weak side instead. Also, we draw a lot of WHL and drop points. That wouldn’t be so bad if they’d do the same to our rivals but Man Utd gets all 6 points off them. Let them go down. Its better for us.
Chelsea has become the real London derby anyway.

Joss let it go…
Maybe the club had also got it wrong for calling spurs it rival. Some fans know more than the club at times.
Mate,Everyone have their opinion. Others got the wrong side of this issues. Hey we might be wrong as well as the local media and national newspapers.
Because they are soo bad and crap does not mean they are not Arsenal rivals anyone.. Maybe History is dead..
I read somewhere they dont have the same goals as Arsenal..
That is the biggest Fantasy. All the 92 clubs in England and Wales have the same goals but resources and capital dont make it possible for others.
Maybe Sol lied when he said his biggest decision made was to join spursz rivals..
And also Ian Wright lied when he said the best club to score against as a gunner was sprusz due to ..

I don’t give a toss about history! BOTTOM LINE IS THEY ARE SOOOOOO BAD THAT THEY COULDN’T BEAT A SUBBUTEO TEAM!!!!! I bet any money that if they entered the MLS they’d finish with a worser record than the Dallas Burn had last season!
GET A LIFE MATE! SPERTZ ARE FINITO! THEY NO LONGER ARE A RIVAL TO ARSENAL! PERIOD!!!!!
December 31st, 2003 at 1:59 am
Arsene Wenger himself has said on many occasions that Chelsea is now A MUCH BIGGER game than Spertz!

I hate to make this division but it seems that the length of support for Arsenal and/or the proximity of Sp*rs fans drives this divide between those who view Sp*rs as rivals & those that don’t.
To me rivalry has nothing to do with the quality of opposition. A rival is someone you despise because of who they are not how good they are. And by that definition, Sp*rs are Arsenal’s rival. Man Utd are competition (to use someone elses definition) now just as Liverpool were THE competition in the ’80s. However, once Man Utd slide down the table - I for one won’t think of them anymore. That could never be true of Sp*rs for me! When they fall into Div. 2, I’ll cheer. When they drop into Div. 3, I’ll do a jig! When the fall into the oblivion of the Conference, I’ll toast to their good fortune! And when the disappear into non-League, I’ll take an advert out in EVERY London paper congratulating them on their terrific season!
BTW - did I mention that I realy dislike Sp*rs?

Well said and written..
Others just got the wrong side of this subject and made it personnal. People can agree or not but some of the comments were just sad and stupid.

You have a choice mate…

It’s fairly pathetic and immature for people who dont agree with others to the point of using foul words.. Scrap the lot
We all support Arsenal whether a Brit or Yank but please guys if you dont agree with others just make our point without some silly comments.. Respect
I know most Brit support 2 teams one being their local team. Even some of the Arsenal Yanks support a local MLS club.
The best football pub in the US being Nevada Smith is a good Example. Jack and co support the Mancs but most fans whether Gunners, kops, Spurs etc join them for the local MLS team.
Not to support anyone here but Yes each team in England have a rival and is always a local thing.
“Maybe” Man City are Soo Bad but Man United fans see them as their rival the before Liverpool and Arsenal. That is the History.

Thanks…
That was the points I was making…
Everyone knows how bad and sad the current Spurs team is.. There is know competition between the two clubs at the moment but will always be seen as the rival.. And as somone mention rivalry had nothing to do with the quality of opposition.
But hey I love to read what others have to say. The silly comments are part of the weak argument.
As it’s just harmless nonsense, why worry about it?

Spurs are, and will always be, the closest rival. There is too much history and they’re located too close to be anything but hated rivals. Let us not forget the way it all became.

how about the closest opposing team…
thats about all they are … because they pose no competitive threat to us…
