Even though the Carling Cup is a second rate tournament, I think we can still advance and book an early trip to Cardiff and get a nice piece of silverware. Wenger has said recently that Wiltord and Bergkamp may be ready as early as this weekend against Boro in the FA Cup. So, my reasoning is, he’ll want to give them a run at any chance he can, so he’d play them in the 2nd leg at the Riverside. And I think they’ll grab the few goals needed to push us through! Wouldn’t it be great to win all 4 trophys? It would be fun to laugh at those United fans who say that they are the best…
Cheers lads!

You’ve pretty much echoed my sentiments…
I’d love to see us advance in this competition… and pick up the hardware. Why not?
and…
I think we will see the likes of Bergy & Wilty… and maybe even a few other regulars… I hope so!
WIN EVERY GAME YOU CAN!

yes we still have a chance, my earlier skeptism has faded away now. playing a younger team away from home in a way suits ourunger players as maybe there is less pressure to go forward and press the game, but we are losing so we have to forward at some stage. it will be interesting to see how Boro approach it.
hopefully bergkamp can shrug off lack of match fitness quickly this time and get back into the groove, as it usually takes an eternity for him to get back to a decent level. quincy obeye-owusu could be very useful away from home on the counter attack.

I think the first leg was a fair result. You can’t field a side including a bunch a kids and expect them to beat a well organised team of experienced professionals- many of them full internationals. Frankly, we don’t deserve to win a tournament we treat in this manner (not that i’m saying we should do any different).
This is boro’s season, right here. they’re not going to win the league or the fa cup and they will want to prove a point in this tie, this competition. if it was your club you wouldn’t want to be humiliated by a reserve team from down south would you!
