Normally, when writng the preview, I attempt to be conservative. You never know when David sits in the shadows with his sling cocked, waiting to strike. Arrogance can be one of the biggest detriments to a club’s performance but at this time it’s hard to be humble when playing MCFC. ManCity is in an absolute FUNK! The yo-yo boys appear to be back and just itching to get relegated as they are presently the worst performing club in the Prem.
In MUFC’s first 11 matches they were well on their way to a European competition(5-3-3), but something happened on the way to the continent. In the last 11 matches of the league season, they have not won a match and hold only 5 points in these 11 games. They moved from a strong top 10 club to a 15th place club hovering just 3 points above the relegation zone. They have given away 21 goals to scoring just 10. To top it all, they come off a FA Cup match against Spurs where they only managed a draw…….a draw to Spurs!
Anelka has 10 goals and 19 in all competitions. He wouldn’t appear to be the problem. McManaman and Reyna were brought in to bolster a strong midfield in Sinclair, Tarnat, Wright-Philips and Sibierski. That wouldn’t seem to be the problem. Dunne, Distin, Sun Jahai and Burton are more than capable defenders. That wouldn’t seem to be the problem. David Seaman retired, but David James was brought in as a replacement and he is more than competent. That’s not the problem. So what is? If I knew that than I’d have a new career across the pond at Manchester’s “second club.”
I was a firm believer that when things got bad that Keegan would duck tail and run. He has proved me wrong as he looks to buy players with the proceeds from the sale of Berkovic and Huckerby. He promises to stay and use the money to “stop the slump.” It would seem Keegan thinks he has a personnel problem and management is sticking behind their manager. Keegan is the absolute key as he is either the problem or he needs to find it and fix it.
Why do I think the Gunners will win? After coming off a draw, ManCity has managed to lose nearly every time and they just drew with Rovers (In the league). LDLDLDDLD…..seems only fitting to put another L on this pattern. Plus teams that are red have beaten teams in sky blue (9 out of 10) in the last week in January when the sky blue teams colors matches the underdog in the Super Bowl. OK, I made that up but the Gunners should do well against Manchester’s “step children.”
ArseAm Predicts: Too much good vibes for the Arsenal right now, they should steamroll Man City. Look for a breakout game from Pires or Freddie, Gunners win 4-0.

I’ve just read that Reyes will be available for this game and is likely to start on the bench. He’s also been given the number 9 shirt as previously worn by Jeffers although apparently this doesn’t mean Franny is definitely leaving.
Back to the game. I can’t see City stopping us scoring at least 3 goals so a definite win for the Arsenal. Maybe even a dream debut goal.

Freddie is hurt. Not sure if it will be Parlour or a youth player wide right. I don’t like to be too optimistic. We expected similar stuffing at Leicester and v. Portsmouth. I only want 3 things a win and a clean sheet and for us to look like we are in a title race. If that equates to a 3-0 or 4-0 scoreline so be it.

God, I hope Jeffers IS leaving. I really do!
