Freddie out for 3 weeks!!! My first time
Feb 03

Quad dream dies as ‘Boro win 2-1. Edu got us even and then Reyes was a bit unlucky. No matter, a 1-1 draw wouldn’t have got it done for the Arsenal.

I’m sure Reyes, and Gooners, will receive a lot of stick. And the end of the day, I don’t think any of us were counting on a Carling Cup trophy. So, what did we get out of this run? A good deal of experience for some youngsters, which was all we really wanted in the first place.

That all being said, I would have like for us to win this game and play for a trophy. As long as someone is keeping score I want the Arsenal to win.

I guess Mr. Wenger did not see the goal and keown silly foul. Damn I have never seen a sh#t piece of defending like this for a long time. And to top it off other player sent off. How can Juninho 4.7″ out jump cygan 6 something feet. Sum it up.

The loser here are the kids. The next time we get to see them will be next year if they are still in arsenal colors.

Period, we were not good enough.

Again… we fielded a half-team of kids against a decent premiership squad. There are far too many “important matches” coming up to risk playing all our best players in a competition that Mr.Wenger was not that interested in winning. I see no shame in having our kids make the semi-finals of the Carling Cup. Boro deserved the win, and they played like it was THEIR SEASON. The Carling Cup is ot our season. Good run by the young studs. I would love to have seen us hoist another trophy, but this was one was the least of our concerns.
Bottom line: you can’t play 3 or 4 regulars and expect to beat a full premiership squad.

    Stupid excuses damn.
You in it to win so now you loss blame the kids sure.
Apart from Edu the rest of the team were freaking bad. Wenger fuc## up with excuses and tell that to the fans that travelled to the game.He will be happy to see the team at cardiff v Bolton.Watch the game to see just how bad the older players were.

From reading the reports it seems that Boro deserved to win so fair play to them. It was their only possible chance of a trophy and if they win it will be one of the best days in their history. For Arsenal it would have been forgotten by the time the next EPL game came along.

There was nothing wrong with Wengers tactics. He started the competition with the youngsters and then added more experience as the competition progressed. In the end we didn’t quite make it although with a bit of luck with the penalty appeal it could have been different.

Should we have played Henry, Pires, etc. Of course not. Imagine if they got a serious injury and missed the CL and FAC games.

That is what’s Arsenal’s season is about. Not the Carling Cup.
