Tragic News for all Arsenal Fans, and some good news too!
Just when you thought our finances were secure, one of the leading football experts in the country has recently announced the End of the World for Arsenal Football Club. This expert, who has been knighted for his services to the football world, stated that he would hate to think that anything like that would happen to a club with such a history and tradition… as Arsenal. He said that many clubs were teetering on the brink of financial disaster and that he took no pleasure from the demise of Leeds United.
The really bad news for Arsenal supporters everywhere is that Sir A. also said that he had read this week that Arsenal could go into administration next year! Sir A. did not divulge his sources but if he read it and then repeated it, it must be true, right?
Well, last time I saw a statement from this football legend it was how he had read in the papers that Arsenal had done a deal with the FA regarding bans and fines. Sadly, this angry old man was forced to back down and apologize for his ignorance. To those who know better it seems incredible but Sir A. actually believed a story written on the back page of a tabloid newspaper! Did you ever meet anyone that gullible before? As we all know, there was no truth in the story that Sir A. had read and been so readily taken in by, so what about this latest reading?
When I first read these few lines of nonsense I was too busy to take in the depth of disinformation that was going on. I have to say it stuck in my mind and I went back to read it again. I found the same thing on two different web sites, so what was going on here? Without anything to back up his statement, Sir A. decided to let us all know that next year, no time or date stated, Arsenal could go into administration. Note the word ?could.?
Though we would all hate to think that anything like that could happen to a club with such tradition and history as Arsenal, it ?could? be true.
However, I found it a little strange that the reporter who first wrote up this hot news did not stop to ask some obvious questions? like, where exactly did you read that? Who wrote the article and where did his information come from?
Something as big as the impending loss of Arsenal Football Club is not the sort of news that any reporter should just accept without question?unless you write for the Daily Speculation, of course!
So, right now it is hard to say whether this is wishful thinking on behalf of Sir A., who just so happens to be the manager of club below Arsenal in the league at present and who have been a constant thorn in his side?or he is the willing victim of a cheap tabloid hoax. Either way, it makes him appear incredibly stupid. Why is it that journalists are afraid to question these outrageous statements by Sir A.? Are they really all scared of him?
You know, I once read that a statue of Elvis was seen on the moon but common sense told me that this was rather unlikely! This particular nonsense should be filed along with it. Maybe Sir A. is getting a little senile or the constant pressure of trying to stay up with his main rival is becoming too much for him. With one player out for missing a drug test and two others facing violent conduct charges he still finds it impossible to admit that there is a disciplinary problem at his club. This kind of denial coupled with the inability to tell fact from fiction is a clear sign that psychiatric help is needed.
There is some good news, however. Today, Leeds United held Man Ure to a 1-1 draw. Along with another hard fought win by Arsenal at Chelsea, it means an even bigger lead has been established by the best team in the land. How do you think Sir A. is feeling now?

I read that article I think it was a typo or slip of tongue; it should have been Leeds, they were talking about the upcoming Leeds/Man U. game and the contrast in fortunes. Arsenal isn’t anywhere close to admin.

The man has lost it and is a Muppet simple. I know he meant to say Leeds not Arsenal. According the rules of football antics which SAF lacks, managers are supposed to talk about the game not opponents financial problems. Sometimes some people are not worth thinking about. SAF is unknown at highbury.
Is one thing to be stupid and other to get your facts wrong? Emotion let people write or chat crap without knowing. It happens here too with some fairy comments.
We going to the seaport south coast. The old gunner does the business again.
FA cup Pompey v Arsenal. Which means we will play them 2 times within a week. pile up the fixtures.

I did too, at first. Then I re read the article which was published on line in the Evening Standard as well as The Guardian. He, Sir A, was talking about Leeds at first but went on to say that “there are a few other clubs teetering on brink just like they are. Maybe they are not as exposed as Leeds” etc etc. Next, also in quotes is the statement I repeated in my article… ” I read this week that Arsenal could go into administration next year. You would hate to think that anything like that could happen to a club with such tradition and history.”
Once again I have to say there is no doubt what is being said here and no challenge from the reporter as to where he read it, who wrote it or where this information come from.
I will write to the editor of the Guardian to try to get some clarification on the matter but which ever way you look at it, this is a huge story… if there is any truth in it. If not, why do print such rubbish without checking the source? I’d call it tabloid journalism at its worse.

Check my reply to the first coment. I do not think he was refering to Leeds and give my reason why. Again I ask… why does nobody in the medaia challenge the crap that this man spouts? Rubbish is rubbish, no matter who says it!

Am with you here but the fact is people like him and Ken Bate are always going talk crap. United had make it clear that SAF comments was not the view of the club. I, like others have lived to forget about him. Not worth a minute of my time. Used to him since his first go at Ian Wright. A subject most Arsenal fans dont even talk about again.
Most united fans on radio did not agree with his comments not to mention the chelsea mate I was sitting next to. Money cant buy you love even not the title.
Not to forget but food is getting very expensive in and around the bridge.

It’s not the money that’s at the heart of it, but what’s DONE with it. Let’s face it, for all his faults, Fergie, and the less-financially-endowed Le Boss, make the big splashes because no matter the money involved, both Man Utd and Arsenal buy the players that MATTER. Bluckburn 95 was an example on how to indiscriminately buy players and pump money into a championship bid CORRECTLY. Chelski on the other hand laid in all this cash for what amounts to a live-action fantasy team, and they really don’t have anyone who can be even a glimmer of Alan Shearer.
Of course, the latest round of shittalking from Fergie just proves he’s losing the plot, and that he knows once again he’s losing the title. Look at 2002.

Just like the visual media, print journalistic standards now cater to the lowest common denominator - even the standards of the “broadsheets”. It’s all about money, and sensationalism sells. That’s why it does not surprise me at all that the Guardian would publish such crap.
But, the fact that Arsenal has had such difficulty with its financing of the new stadium does indicate that the target banks are not sold on the financial story underlying the loan requests. It’s a bit of a leap though to get from there to administration next year.
Bottom line - Ferguson is a nasty bit of work. But what’s news about that?

I was wondering if Sir Alex had been imformed of Arsenals profits going from 117 million to 156 million (Probably because of the ludicrous pricing of the shirts) and Arsenal being able to fund a 400 million pound stadium?
