Arsenal v Bolton Friday Morning Anorak
Apr 02

Having just read Arsene Wenger’s (late) reaction to our fixture congestion and the next in a long line of reports on who is likely to miss out on Saturday, well…right or wrong…I’m seriously pissed-off.

Add to that article after article of big words from all competition, never-was, fat-headed punditry, punch-up rumors, international friendly interruptions, and just outright playa hatin’, and manners for this Gooner just got hype. It looks like its going to take that extra something to pull through this. Depending on where you’re sitting, some have said we’ve looked ready, but others, including myself, feel like the last few games, regardless of any variables, have looked a little flat.

My point is, after everyone is through “gunning” for us (leave your little gun out of this, Neville), slagging our premature accomplishments, and ripping our manager, I just hope that, somewhere in North London, there is a red faction ready to do some major ass-kicking. This is it! Things are getting ugly, and are bound to get worse, and just once, just ONCE, I would like to hear a Gunner say in the press:

“Bring it the f**k on!”

i always believe - when a team is on a (winning) momentum run, luck will be on its side. Take our last match Vs Man U as an example, we could have conceded a penalty (when Sol accidentially brought down Giggs in the box, which did look like a penalty to me), we got away from it. Given that the referee was Graham Poll, I felt even luckier.

And with that ridaculous fixtures ahead of us, let’s face it, we can use a bit of luck.

I wanted to hear a little fed-up talk from someone like Paddy, who holds down our guts. Telling the world that the lesson is about to come down on noisy brats like Neville and Keane.

But you’re right, luck it is, then. Out comes the shirts, hats, ball, pens, flags, keychains, etc. Who knows, maybe it’ll help.

Dman leg’s wiggling already, and we’re still 20 hours away.

    Surely you jest!
A penalty? The foul wasn’t even inside the box!!!

I doubt luck will decide our fate… I think it will come down to clinical finishing… good hard defending… and the Arsenal Leprechauns of course!!!

Our players tend not to be “yappers”… which I like alot. We don’t make these bold wild predictions and all that crap. We just come out and play… and boy have we played well so far!!!
I look for a great display of football tomorrow…
and I just wonder if Wenger is crazy (genius?) enough to sit Henry on the bench for the most important match of the year…(so far!)
    God, I hope not!

Didn’t Henry come out and say he would “make United pay” for floating the “story” on the tunnel dust-up with Lauren?

I have a strange feeling that waht went on at OT will seem like recess compared to Saturday, but it won’t be the after the play stuff, but I’m sure everyone from Viera on down will really put their weight into every tackle. Of course, I’m sure ManU won’t hold back either.

ManU’s fans all say that Arsenal is not a “real” rival, that Arsenal are the ones with the fixation. After this game, I’m pretty sure that hate will flow both ways.

I agree. Without luck I dont even know where we will be. luck plays a hugh part of football.

Graham Poll after almost 3 yrs out of Highbury did well I have to say. He knew everyone was watching him after that stupid game against Newcastle.

We can all complain about the fixtures but there is nothing you or me can do.

  7. Andez Says:

luck plays a part in football, as it in life. of course, i’m not counting on our team to ride on the luck, i was suggesting with such a demanding fixture ahead of us, we do need the lady luck if not on our side, at least won’t go against us. a small little incident could make a big difference, such as injury.

Action speaks louder than words. The likes of Gary Neville can talk as much as he wish (as he always did anyway), as far as i’m concerned, the more they talk, the bigger they talk, the worse they will look when they get beaten!

  9. stag133 Says:

    True… luck could play a part…
a bad or good bounce of the ball…
a bad call for or against…
I guess I hope / think we will just blaze our way
to glory with our blinding skills!
