Four goals by Thierry Henry (plus one from SuperBob) highlighted this encounter. A shame we didn’t suit up some of our younger players.
Who’s next? Bring ‘em on!

Henry was brilliant, he’s coming on strong after that bit of slump…Great to see Parlour back in the lineup. With only 5 matches left, looking at our remaining opponents and who Chelsea has left, on paper it seems more or less over, now lets wrap it up in reality!

It was a great example of a team taking its chances tonight, Leeds played pretty well in the first half but got caught on the break something silly throughout the game.
Henry scored his 38th of the season and 150th for the Arsenal, you still thinking of selling him Rick?!

Rick… once we’ve clinched the title in a game or 2… we can play all the kids all the time…
that is of course… unless we want to go undefeated in the league!!!!!!!!!!
5 freaking NIL….
we OWN Leeds… they’re going down…
think Pennant wants to swap shirts now?

So I lost my 4-1 exact score punt but did we ever look like sitting on 4 nil (more so did they ever look like scoring). A breezy victory for the side and a moral crusher for the leeds lads. I really hope they stay up. You know smithy will be headed to pool manure scum or newcastle should they go down. More so, though, their fans deserve them staying up. Massive game next week v. pompey but enough about that, let’s celebrate. Almost there and doesn’t look like we can be stopped.

Rick,
You winding me up with your comment on whose next????:)lol
I’ll give you a clue who we’ve got next….they come from the poor end of the Seven Sisters Road and tomorrow will be the 43rd anniversary of their failure to capture the league title:)lol
Does that clue tell you who we’ve got next?:)lol

For the first time in the past two weeks, the team had a break more than 3 days between two fixtures, and we can tell the different of our players’ energy level.
Great thing from this game is our players had kept their focus throughout the 90 mins. Whereas previously had we taken a 3 goal lead by half time, it’s more likely our players would start to relax. But against Leeds even when they were 5 goals up, they were still playing like they were fallen behind. It seems our players are determined to prove a point.

For those lamenting the Gunners’ (lack of) presence in the US, I thought it worth noting here that last night’s and this morning’s SportsCenter on ESPN showed highlights of the Leeds match, including all four of Henry’s goals. They even pronounced his name right, in contrast to Linda Cohn’s butchery of “Silvane Wilford” when we won the title at Old Trafford two years ago. Though it must be said that anchor Steve Berthiaume declared himself to be “more of a QPR man.” His loss.
Man U lost today, and Chelsea drew. Do I smell a title clincher at White Hart Lane?

Thats fantastic… but thats ESPN putting the Arsenal on the air… not the Arsenal desiring to do something in the US!!! Our utter and complete lack of marketing skills is pathetic and unacceptable in the world of football, where finance DOES count.
