Gooner for life Donations and Dutchmen

As we approach the close of a fantastic season, here?s a big thank you to all our members for making this such a great site. Wonderful contributions from regulars like the Kentucky Gunner, Ken Bradley, and the dozens of others make this a unique place for supporters of the Arsenal to share viewpoints, make friendships and debate the merits of the finest club in England. We may not always agree with each other, but I hope you all enjoy the opportunity to share your views with the rest of Arsenal America.

As most of you know, we?ve grown quite a bit over the last several months. This has meant a huge increase in the labor involved in running the site. Responding to emails, editing submissions, creating new content, working with Jill Smith, producing the banner, coordinating the trip to Highbury (God bless you, Webmaster Andrew) have all become major endeavors.

One of the founding principles of Arsenal America is that we wouldn?t charge membership fees. We still hold to that, but at this time we ask if you would kindly make a contribution. If you enjoy coming here for the commentary, news, rumours and general fun, please take a moment to make a donation (see Paypal link on the right). Your generosity is appreciated.

I’ve also just made a small donation to keep the club growing. Thank you all for a great season. I enjoyed meeting those of you who went on the trip and I look forward to seeing you again for the next Road Trip. I also have enjoyed coming to this site during my first month or so in Asia. It’s been a nice way to keep up with things while I’ve been adjusting to life here. Those of you who have contributed, keep up the good work! And to everyone else, here’s to a fun and fruitful offseason and a successful defense of our championship!

It truly has been a fantastic season all around… both Arsenal AND Arsenal America… I check the site almost every day… and look forward to the entries and responses from all the various people. We are all Gooners at the end of the day… and we can all raise a pint to our CHAMPIONS!
I’ll do all I can to make the road trip next season with the AA posse’…
Rick… thanx… and my donation is coming your way… keep it up!

Rick - Thank you for all that you have done and the rest of the crew to keep this site going. If it wasn’t for you I may not have had such a great trip to see 3 games in London this year.

I will certainly be sending a donation to keep this site open and free to all the people throughout the world who come here. To make the site a members only site would not be good. Many of the fans come here to read and comment, but probably wouldn’t pay to be a member. So all of you true members, make your donations so that we can keep this site open for all to enjoy.

    Bob,

I’m certainly interested in creating an Arsenal America merchandise item as you mentioned. Here are my two issues:

    1. Quality and 2. Cost.

#1 is non-negotiable. Has to be top quality. #2 will have to reflect that in some way. I want to pass along the item at cost, but still it could get pricey.

  7. DaveP Says:

Rick - I think if you add a buffer to the cost, this will help offset some of the web fees. Quality is certainly a big issue. It’s always nice to know it’s going to last.

Rick. I work for a company that sells supplies, and part of that industry is the HATS, MUGS, SWEATSHIRTS, etc etc etc… you can possibly get samples made… or get them to send you promotional examples, so you can see the quality of the cap or shirt… and then design a logo.

I have toyed with the idea of making my own Arsenal hats… as I hate the marketing department of Arsenal. I don’t like anything they make… and have make my own JACKET, SWEATSHIRT, and TRACK TOP… all have gotten good response when I was in England!
so… I could throw some ideas your way… and give you ballpark pricing if needed.

    lemme know…
    Cheers

    Everyone vote for Henry!!!

Anyway, this has been a great season thanks to Rick and the crew for everything. Keep up the good work

  10. AVSAbbate Says:

Yes! Absolutely! Vote for Henry! That he’s even made the final eight has to be some kind of miracle, but we can’t let him be beaten by a swimmer, can we?!

Besides, if he makes it to the final four or better, we’ll have done more for the cause in the US than Arsenal’s own marketing department…
