Na Na Na Na Hey Hey Hey, Goodbye! For all you Americans, this little chorus should be familiar. For any of our international audience, this is the chorus of a popular song from the 50’s or 60’s that is sung by crowds as it becomes obvious that the other team is a goner. The Foxes are goners. They know their fate and its Division One, yet again. A club that seemed to try hard in the summer with transfers but just could never mount a real assault.
One of the most interesting facts of the Premiership season was that Leicester scored more away goals than any other team but Chelsea and Arsenal. That places the offense in high regard but it seems that it should have been obvious in their summer signings. The Foxes went after Ferdinand, to pair with Dickov, and then filled the roster with offensive midfielders. The rest of the year they played with “division one level” defenders. These defenders gave away goal after goal in one of the worst defenses seen in the league.
Leceisters roster is a hodge-podge of relegated rejects and retreads. So many players have seen relegation with other clubs. Players like Marcus Bent, have to feel that there is a better life somewhere more stable. It will be interesting to see if Leceister tries to hold on to these players or opens up a garage sale. Many of those with experience and talent certainly could bring them back, again, but will the money be there to keep these players on the team?
As for play, there is nothing really interesting in this club. Traditional 4-4-2 with little counter ability, they will probably fill the 18 with defenders in hopes of going out with a point. When you say there is nothing to play for that would certainly describe what the Foxes face. Only the Arsenal have anything really to play for and I couldn’t script a better club to face than Leicester. If the Gunners were to lose and the streak broken, then I could truly say that we didn’t deserve it. No way no how, should we lose points to this Leceister squad!
ArseAm Predicts - Gunners go out in style, Henry grabs two and Arsenal win, 3-1.

Right on the money…
No way should we be in any position to LOSE this match. If you were a Leicester player, and knew that you were going down… or might be transferred or released… would you risk a career threatening injury by giving it your all, like the game had meaning?? I doubt it.
I think we will cruise …. score a few… and get the party started. Just wish I was there to witness the festivities… or even be able to watch them on TV. Something tells me that not much of the trophy presentation, if any… will be shown.
FoxSportsWorld is showing the following:
Werder Bremen match at 9:30am EST
German League Trophy presentation 11:30am EST
Arsenal v. Leicester at NOON (tape delay)
NO… NO EPL Trophy presentation after the match.
We are gonna get screwed out of seeing the festivities… WTF!

This should be a glorious rout. Which means, of course, that I will once again be nervous as hell until we’ve secured at least a five goal margin. Here’s hoping that one of those goals comes from the foot or head of Martin Keown?one player whose enthusiasm and love for his club has never once been in doubt. Farewell, #5.
On another note, the fact that FSW isn’t showing the game and that it can only be seen in the UK on Sky PPV is as close to a complete insult as one can get. Maybe its being seen as a forgone conclusion, or perhaps the last few games have been less than riveting, but this is history in the making and its being treated like, well, a fight for a place in the UEFA Cup!. Unbelievable.

Ummmm…
Scotty…. unless FSW has literally just changed their mind on this… they ARE showing the match on 2 hour tape delay. Thats not perfect, but I think I can stay away from a computer until NOON!

I think FSW is still showing it at 2 hr. delay, which is slight consolation, however no good for me schedule-wise. Also, the pub doesn’t appear to be showing it. Rats.
I guess I’ll watch and listen on Arsenal Plus. There’s something to experiencing it as its happening that kind of makes the difference for me. Even if that experience involves a stuttering webcast and slide show.
Besides, there’s just no way I’d be able to play dumb till 2.

Yeah FSW not showing the trophy presentation after they went out of their way to show it (also tape delayed) for Man Utd last season is a bit shitty. But ah well. We KNOW we won…
Course I’m also kinda pissed at FSW right now in general, they’re denying me one of my favorite times of the season, the Division 1 playoffs. Had loads of fun watching them last year, now nothing this year? Pfah.
And hey! According to the Arsenal.com newsletter, the Arsenal Ladies play FOR FREE at Highbury almost immediately after the game/presentation. WHIPASS! Let’s not forget the OTHER HALF of our fine club here, they’re gonna be champions too y’know.
