Party Long, Party Hard, Party Proud Party long, party hard, party proud (part 2)
May 18

WOW! What a wonderful season and I can’t believe how fast it flew by. Now I want a Year-in-Review DVD copy and a Champions T-Shirt. Where can I find them? Also why on Earth has no one from Arsenal America contacted Arsenal FC to put in requests for many of their DVDs to be made for North American DVD players??? Arsenal is THE hottest club in the world. Arsenal FC should really capitalize on this season’s great success. I would also love DVDs of the 98 and 02 seasons…where could I find them? I’m willing to pay for shipping, labor, a burned copy if need be.
Thanks.

I believe the CHAMPIONS T-shirts are already SOLD OUT… so it will be a few weeks before they are re-stocked.
The DVD situation, I have dealt with for years.
The year end DVD won’t be out for at least a few weeks, AND the US VERSION will be alot longer than that. They simply don’t care about having it in US format very much. As we all know, Arsenal do not market with the US in mind. so, don’t hold your breathe on the US video version in the near future.

I bought a Champions shirt with the Wenger trophies outside of Highbury and have been the envy of AFC fans at my pub ever since. As far as getting another from the States, haven’t seen or heard a thing. Waiting…

I also want the Official History Video in NTSC, but haven’t even gotten a response about that one. Since I work in video production, I’ve been considering buying the PAL version and trying to have it duped or converted here or in Philadelphia or on my editor. These things HAVE to make their way over here eventually after the year they’ve had.

T-shirts I would like to see:

On front: “The Immortals”, surrounding or under an understated AFC crest. Available in red or black.

    On back:
You win some, you draw some…
    ARSENAL FC 2003-2004

Or a version of the Comical Wenger with his likeness, and the slogan “Whose laughing now?

Or maybe just all the W’s and D’s forming a big block, or line, on the front, with a version of the team name and years on the back.

Or simply, red lettering on black or vice versa: “Unbeaten.” Nothing else is needed, since one could scarcely be talking about any other team.

    This is fun, ain’t it?

1st, You have to probably wait until the summer to get the video online. Then buy it.Go to an indian video store(it WORKS) and ask if they could transfer the UK version into a North American version. The t-shirt you should buy online.

I usually get my Arsenal DVDs from http://www.bensons-world.co.uk and have it shipped here. I usually get the DVDs by the 4th day (and that is shipped from ENGLAND!!!) They are cheaper than the Arsenal Store price, but originals and the staff are ever so concerned. They actually mailed me twice to confirm my order of a Region 2 DVD, explaining to me that it would not play on a US format DVD Player. I watch DVDs on my PC, so that isn’t really a problem.

I’m telling you, people: eBay. EBAY!!!

Don’t forget to ’see sellers other items’, because all the ones I’ve seen so far are selling a few of the exact same shirt.

In Oz I have the same dilemma with DVDs. Whilst I was working at Philips I discovered that the format on all DVD players can be very easily changed. I managed to persuade one of the servicemen to change my DVD player to a multi region format. Why all DVDs are not sold with a multi region format in the age of the Internet is beyond me anyway. The process of re-formatting literally takes seconds to do. You just need the programming tool. Obviously you can?t just walk into a deaprtnment store and ask for this to be done. I dare say there must be some people that would be willing to do this for a small fee. I was just lucky enough to work for a electronics company.

http://www.amazon.co.uk is the place to go. June 14th is the sale date of the 2003/04 season. They also have 2000/2001 dvd review. Not sure about the rest.

I know the main supplier of the TShirts you speak off. The best ones were available from the stalls outside the ground. As always Arsenal’s marketing department missed the boat.

It could be possible to ship a stock over, but I’m not sure how. Maybe the easiest thing to do would be to jump on a plane with a suitcase full of shirts and take them to Nevada Smith’s and then shipped to individuals.

    Any other suggestions.

Don?t worry guys. I will be in town today and have some T-Shirts to sell. If anyone wants one you can find me at Smiths ?NY? on Saturday b4 or after the FA Cup. The DVD is not out till this weekend I guess. If you want a copy of that maybe get in touch with Rick, whom I?m going to speak to about that.
