Arsenal Season DVD for North America? Yes! Arsenal in for Morientes?
May 20

According to the BBC Alan Sugar, Chairman of Tottenham Hotspur, has been cast as in the role of “successful businessman” in the new, English-version, of NBC’s show “The Apprentice.”

From the BBC’s website:

“Sir Alan, the multi millionaire behind Amstrad, the man credited with bringing computers to the mass market throughout Europe, the saviour of Tottenham FC….”

Saviour? Didn’t they just barely beat the drop? And this is the guy millions of Britons are going to be watching to learn how to “make it” in this world. I mean, we had Trump here in the US, love him or hate him, but they must really be dredging the bottom of the barrel over there to come up with Sugar. Perhaps the “fry guy” at McDonalds was too busy to host the show.

I think all Arsenal supporters in the UK should apply for this show and convince him to give it up and become a Gunners fan.

Are you sure this isn’t a spoof? Now there’s an idea for a show: make the boss a complete loser and have the contestants try and get fired. The last person to successfully do it, the unlucky bastard who actually gets hired, loses for his team and the other team splits a money prize.

And all the while, the words “gun”, “gunner” or even “Arsenal” is slipped into as many conversations as possible. Each time it successfully makes the air, the money is doubled!

I think the researchers on the show have got their facts wrong. Daniel Levy is the chairman of the sc*m. Alan Sugar sold most of his shares some time ago , though he still holds ont to some.

When he first bought them he was considered to be the saviour.

Not in footballing terms, obviously, but he did save the club going bankrupt when the Midlands Bank wanted full repayment of an ?11 million loan.

?Captain? Robert Maxwell was favourite to buy the sc*m and he died in mysterious circumstances having misplaced the Daily Mirror pension fund.

Alan Sugar was the other half in the ?dream team? partnerhsip with Terry Venables. As with a lot of investors he claimed to be a lifelong fan but let himself down when he called them Tottenham Hotspurs at his press conference.. The ?s? added at the end said more about his lack of football knowledge than anything else.

Alan Sugar did indeed make shitloads of money with Amstrad, but as has been experienced with a lot of businessmen buying football clubs, football and business are difficult bedfellows.

On the pitch Tottenham have suffered, but financially they are a very sound club.

    Bastards!

Andrew I hope he becomes a Gunner. We might need some of his money.

I hate everything Sp*rs but I have a huge respect for Sir Sugar. Sir thanks for all the good work you have done for thousands of young people.

Yes Alan is coming up with his own version of the Apprentice. He saved the Totts from going down and without his money the Totts might be in D2 and nothing to laugh about.

    Oh Kelvin,
I told you the all London Showdown. Still going with the Eagles. Easy points but better than the Totts and the Hammers are too close with Spurs “Mutual Agreement”
