I think Spurs has made a perfect choice for manager in this upcoming season. For a team that splashes out too much money for shite players (Helder “I only score by mistake” Postiga), what can be better than a manager that doesn’t know how to use his players so that they can play at their best ability level? France was a terribly managed team this past 2 weeks. The team focussed around Zidane who, several weeks ago said his confidence level was at an all-time low after being sent off for Real Madrid. And the pure magic combination of Pires and Henry was split up and they were on opposite sides of the field! Santini must find his strategies in his alphabet soup, because the strategy seemed to be: pass the ball to Zizou and hope… he didn’t do too badly, but they had the best striker in the world playing out of position.

On Being a U.S. Gooner…
Its somewhat difficult for me to imagine having been introduced to anything so spectacular, or “craptacular”, in my youth like a hometown sports team, and watch as their hard-earned grandeur catches the hearts and minds of others far, far away. Much has been said about “Glory Hunters” , on this site and others, and that has made me take a hard look as to why I consider myself a die-hard American Gooner.
