In response to a Rick’s article, I would like to add something here.
First, I don’t think there is any Gooner who would want to see the Vieira leave if the rumor proves to be true. We HOPE it’s not true, and most of us BELIEVE it’s not true. But the FACT is - we DON’T KNOW (what’s really going to happen). So as fans, naturally, we may get a bit restless of those endless reports/rumors…
I understand Paddy is a man who very much likes to keep to himself, but in situations like this, if he loves Arsenal, shouldn’t he at least come out...

Can you believe the things Patrick Vieira has been saying this past week? Or how about Wenger and his outrageous comments to the media regarding his future ? unbelievable! What?s that? You say you haven?t actually seen one quote from either of those two? It?s amazing how the press continue to pull this trick on supporters every year. Gerrard and Owen are leaving Liverpool! RvN is going to Madrid! Please. The media use the shotgun approach: If we throw enough nonsense out there, eventually one of them will actually happen. It?s tough to pinpoint a weakness in a team that went undefeated in league, lost a tough game to Man U in the FA Cup and was nudged out at the quarterfinal stage of the Champions League by the slimmest of margins. At Tottenham you can point almost anywhere on the field and say, ?that?s the problem.? Not so at Arsenal. And yet I fear that the number one issue may not have been addressed. If there was one thing most of us agreed on, it was that Arsenal didn?t have enough depth.

Well, I?m sorry to say that we won?t be moving forward with the DVD buy. The club apparently doesn?t have a version that will work for us here in N. America. Now, I know many of you have mentioned ways to make it work with codes or reformatted players or discs. That may be true, but it would be extremely labor intensive for me to now go back and see who still wants it, who wants to try for reformatting, who doesn?t want it, getting a partial refund, etc. The time/labor economics no longer work (in fact, I?ve probably already lost money on this, and certainly a ton of time.) There are many factors that contributed towards our success last season, among them, there was one key factor I find suprisingly being overlooked by many…
During the first half of the season, we had a series of difficult fixtures back to back to back, against Man Utd, Chelsea, Liverpool, Newcastle, and Inter in the Champions League. I’m sure hoping this whole Paddy-to-Real move is all made up by the media. These so-called worries that he has about our defence, thinking that it’s not good enough to win the Champions League, has he looked at Real and what they did last year?? Let’s see, didn’t win the league, the Champions League or the Copa Del Rey…hmm. Wasn’t their defence the weak point in that team last year?? And then I look at our defence, undefeated in the league, the only losses came at the crucial times, which will be remedied for this season.

As you?ll no doubt recall, at this time last year many of us here felt that Arsenal must shore up their defense after the disastrous collapse that gave ManU the title. The team was thin at the back and they needed not only a big time keeper, but also a strong partner for Sol. I however felt that the need for reinforcements was more pressing at the front and that a new, more defensive mind-set would take care of the issues along the back.

Just wanted everybody to know that things are happening behind the scenes here at ArseAm World HQ. Andrew and I are in the process of bringing several veteran members on board the Executive Committee. Hopefully next week we’ll have some more concrete details.
Still waiting to hear back from Jill Smith, who was very apologetic, regarding the DVDs.
