My fellow Gooners,

It appears that commentary of this weekend’s match against Everton will be aired live on the ‘net via a BBC 5 Live stream

I’m a bit concerned, though, that non-UK residential broadband IPs will be blocked on account of rights problem stemming from BBC online Olympic coverage.

Does anyone know of any open UK residential broadband proxy servers we can use to listen to the match?

Thanks,
James.

Ed. Note - Ahhh, the backlash, the cynicism…

So Vieira cones out and tells us of his love for Arsenal, his pride at being captain and how he would never be able to “break his ties” here.

Is this the great news that we have all been waiting for over the last month? Hurrah! Vieira breaking his silence and staying is a great thing, but really?!

The fact that the papers reveal a breakdown in talks, Arsenal wanting an extra 5m Euros and Real not offering Vieira the money that he feels he deserves…..

Dont get me wrong, I love PV4, but has anyone...

Arsenal Held Hostage - Day 3,492

The ordeal has apparently ended. Vieira has announced that he will stay with the club. By the time you read this the news will be everywhere. I gotta run, more later.

This is just a brief note on that (Its been going on for ‘oh’ so long) Vieira subject that seems to be going around- so please excuse this rant!

It makes me laugh when I see all of the posts about Vieira. You find the “We can’t play without him” types and the “We dont need him anyway” types, but you also find the types that complain about the numerous posts devoted to our big number 4.

Okay Okay… I give up!
I have defended / hoped / prayed / had my fingers and toes crossed for many days… but I actually think Paddy is going!

Here is why Patrick Vieira is so important to the Arsenal Football Club at this time.

We Lack “IT”. Ray Parlour is gone. Martin Keown is gone. Who is left in our squad that has “IT”. That extra grit/determination/passion to stick in a hard tackle… defend a fellow teammate… even go OVER the edge and take a red card to prove a point??? Well… up until he goes… it’s one...

Last year Arsenal had one of the best defenses in the League. During the summer there were no major additions so it’s going to be more of the same this season.

Ashley Cole ? Had a very solid Euro 2004. Assuming he stays healthy, he’s an automatic inclusion in the squad.

As we continue our look at the central players for Arsenal in the 2004-05 season, we turn to the crucial area of central midfield. Wenger has always understood the importance of this area and it has consistently been a strength of the team. First Vieira and Petit, now Vieira and Gilberto or Edu. The Romford of Pele is gone, and Paddy is still in limbo. For our purposes let’s include him though. My main concern is a lack of depth here. There’s great talent, but Arsenal are a bit thin here.

Patrick Vieira - Clearly a standout performer, though to be honest never one of my favorites....

With the season kicking off this weekend, I?ve decided to post some of my thoughts regarding the Arsenal squad. First, some of my impressions of Arsenal FC?

It appears to me that Arsene Wenger has fashioned a side with both quality and quantity (with perhaps a few exceptions), and done so in an economical fashion. By economical I don?t just mean financially. There is a leanness to the side that other clubs such as Chelsea, or in Europe Inter Milan, lack. There doesn?t seem to be any dead weight or surplus to requirements (Kanu, Wiltord) and I think just about everybody in the squad has...
