Caught up with Frank Simek the other day. Here’s what he had to say about recent events…
On the departure of Coach Eddie N.: “It came as a surprise to me that Eddie left. I knew he was Hughes’ right hand man, but I never really thought Eddie would leave for Blackburn. All of us reserves were sad to see him go. He was a really good coach, and a nice guy, always looking to help you on and off the field. Obviously this was something he couldn’t turn down, and all us players respect that. I’m sure he’ll do a good job up there, it’s a great...

As this week?s poll clearly indicated, Bobby McMahon of Fox Sports World has a loyal following among Gooners. So I figured the least I could do was get him for an interview. Bobby was kind enough to accept the offer.
Arsenal America: What’s your background, how did you get to where you are today?

Ed. Note - Another outstanding preview by Ken Bradley. I hope you all appreciate his Bobby McManon-esque level of analysis. (Did I just say Bobby McMahon? Tune in tomorrow for the ArseAm exclusvie interview)…
I honestly thought that Kevin Keegan would have quit in the yo-yo years. The frustration of the Premiership would have gotten to him, but instead there was no move down and Keegan was king. After last season’s 16th place finish and some poor results this season, the questions of his employment arise yet again. Will he step down or will he be tossed out, or will he rally...

My family and I will vist US for 3 week from 24 sep. 2004. I have been a gunners fan for more than 25 years, and would hate to miss the Arsenal games on my visit to The Western US.
So please help me anyone. Where can I see the following matches:
25 sep. - Manchester C - Arsenal (I’m in San Francisco, near Union Square)
2 oct. - Arsenal - Charlton (I’m in LA, near DisneyLand)
Gunners forever…

Recently we’ve received several stories that, while they address a football-related issue, are not particularly relevant to Arsenal (eg: Mourinho whining, Clough’s death, Beckham is not a genious jokes, etc.)
While I appreciate the effort to submit a post, we try to keep most of the talk here Arsenal-focused, or at least of significance to N. American fans. Especially during the season when we have EPL and Champions League matches being played.
So please don’t be offended if a recent submission didn’t make the cut.

[adapted from my LiveJournal entry tonight...]
So I’m at work earlier tonight (and boy has IT been Hell on Earth lately. Sheesh) and I see someone walking down the produciton floor wearing something very familiar yet strange. A blue shirt with a huge white O2 on it. Holy shit, it’s an Arsenal shirt!
As he gets closer I say something to him, and notice that it’s a really BAD BAD bootleg shirt. Like, the proportions are off, and the crest is the new shield, but the old font saying “Arsenal” and...

If rumors are to be believed Wenger may be after Norwich goalkeeper, Robert Green
I was watching the Norwich/Villa game today and thinking the same thing. It’s seldom you see a game and goalkeeping stands out, but having also seen him against Spurs, this guy is really talented and could be another piece of the puzzle for the next gen Arsenal.

Well, it was bound to happen sooner or later.
Had Pires not scored an extremely LUCKY goal, this would’ve seen the end of the streak and us dropping all points at home. However, we knew Bolton was going to be tough going, and they’ve now shown just why they’re in the spot they’re in right now.
Now we have tomorrow to look at — wow, Chelsea v. Tottenham, talk about lesser of two evils?!

The BBC are currently running a feature called ?Cult Heroes? and it got me thinking after seeing Andez?s all time top XI who would get into an Arsenal XI of cult heroes.
The question is what makes a cult hero; well my definition is a player who was idolized by the fans for one reason or another. He may or may not have been the best player in the team; in fact he could be just a squad. He may be a rebel who did not toe the line with authority or the management or a player who gives 100% of his ability but it may only be 30% of a good player.
So here goes

Have you heard the old addage, “what you don’t know can’t hurt you”? In the case of Bolton, I believe the saying doesn’t apply. What we don’t know is precisely what will hurt us. Why are Bolton 3rd in the table….I don’t know. Why did they nearly beat ManUtd……I don’t know. Why do they spend so little and get so much…..I don’t know. All these add up to what could be a diificult match for the Gunners.
I believe the difference is in Sam Allardyce. He has been on the hot seat, when Bolton finished ever close to relegation,...
