The Only Response - Win the League So, We Finally Lost One
Oct 26

Okay Okay… it was MY FAULT we lost at Old Trafford. I accept the blame, and I hope all my fellow Gooners can forgive me.

It played out like this…
I was talking to the GODS OF SPORT last week, as I was begging them to remove the Curse of the Bambino from the Boston RedSox…

When they asked me what I had to offer in return, the only thing I could think of that was remotely of similar worth to me, was the Arsenal undefeated streak. So, with much trepidation… I told the Gods of Sport… they could award Manchester United a win over Arsenal, in return for the Boston Red Sox winning the World Series this year.

Look, I have waited my whole life to see the Sox win the World Series. I have suffered thru the agonies of 1975, 1978, 1986, 2003…
The Sox not winning has outlasted my Grandfather and my Father… and I have waited 35 years. The time is now… I am sorry that I gave up the Arsenal Unbeaten Streak…. but it had to be done.

We will still win the league… We will still have our shot in the Champions League & FA CUP… this does NOT affect those competitions!!!!!
Again, I apologize… but it simply had to be done!

Now, seriously folks… you know the Arsenal streak is big time… when you see the result on ESPN… with a little note saying the loss snaps our unbeaten run. I have had people in my office, who don’t know soccer AT ALL… and they knew we had lost! They asked me how? … why?… there is a small article in the newspaper about it…

IT WAS BIG NEWS! It was an amazing run… sometimes you are going to get a bad call… a bad break… or ALOT of BAD BREAKS… (See: Red Sox History)… but the cream usually rises to the top, and you’d have to like our chances of bouncing back and reaching our destinies…
GREAT JOB ARSENAL… lets look ahead to the BRIGHT future… not behind at the one blemish in recent memory. Its worth looking back at the streak in awe… but not at the one loss.

    Hmmm interesting..
I accept your apology. Sunday was not a very good day for me. After Old Trafford I taught the NY Jets were going to stop the NEP but also bottle it. But hey they gave it a good fight and will beat them in Jersey.

Nothing is lost 8 points ahead and more games to go. Remember they have to come to highbury as well.

can’t accept your apology mate…sorry as I ain’t no Red Sox fan

you didn’t have to use Arsenal as a promise or even ask for a Boston Red Sox lucky charm. They already have one.

That 2ft mascot being bandied around by Pedro is their anti-curse charm.

Now we had a 49 game unbeaten streak ended, Ashley Cole with horrid knees, Reyes with bruises to every inch of his body too.

    anyways…

How utterly selfish and irresponsible of you!!!

17 October is my birthday. It has been a week of absolute horror. A native NYer, I’ve had to endure four straight Yankee losses, a loss at the end of the regular season and a playoff loss by the MetroStars, and then on the seventh day - IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN A DAY OF REST - Arsenal lose in most unfair fashion.

A few hours later the Giants lost, too, making it 8 losses by my beloved teams in 7 days. Now I know who to blame.

I had been faced with the decision of whether to jump from the Tappan Zee or the GWB, but now I’ve refocused: I will hunt you down and make you suffer.

Better yet…I’ll watch the Cardinals win the Series.

Stag, why did u pray that we lost to Aston Villa a week before instead?! It would still end our unbeaten run, and the run would be one match less… still, it’s so much better than losing to the CHEATING UNITED!

  5. stag133 Says:

Don’t forget the Patriots beating the Jets… for their 21st straight… and the fact that after we win the World Series, you have nothing to chant any longer… who’s your daddy NOW?!!

Yankees fans are supposed to support ManU… they are the same team… they are affiliated… they are both the evil empire.

And I hope the Revs win tooooooooooo!

Andez, no prayers that we lose… it was a tough call… but its been 86 years since the Sox won the World Series… it had to be done!
    Sorry…. GO SOX!!!!!!!!!!
