I take full responsibility for the loss! Why Soccer Needs to Look to the Frozen North For Help
Oct 26

Well, guys, it’s been a long time coming. 49 games to be exact. That’s 4410 minutes without defeat. Over 17 months. I know, it hurts more than anything that it had to be Man Utd, but we musta seen it coming. We knew the ref was a no good Man Utd penalty bit$h, we knew our players were going to get kicked all over the park by a team with absolutely no interest in playing football, and the ref would do absolutely nothing about it until it became too blatant. I would have preferred to lose to Chelsea even, but like I said, it had to happen sooner or later and that’s life. If we had gone down fair and square, to a team playing the better football, it would have been a helluva lot easier to swallow though.

There are those who suggest that Arsenal have an inferiority complex when playing against Man Utd, as well as in European competition. To them I say bollocks. If we did have such a complex, then Man Utd woulda hammered us silly.

Boy, would I have loved to get to that magic 50 mark, it didn’t happen, but let none forget this, Arsenal FC still exists, and we can still get there. We must now play like our season has only just begun. That is how this defeat must be seen. The “unbeaten run” has ended, the papers will as usual proclaim the demise of Arsenal, but as happened when Ruud van Horseface hit the crossbar last season, we will get stronger from this. In our next league match I expect to see an Arsenal running on anger, rage and righteous indignation. An Arsenal that will so mercilessly rip its next opponents to shreds that others will say to Man U fans,”You’ve done it now!” This will be the signal that we don’t take defeat lightly, and when we lose like we did yesterday, we get really, really mad. And we take it out on the next poor bastards the fixture list has thrown our way.

We lost, we have proven we can deal with it, and like against Liverpool last season, we need to step it up. No doubt Wenger will be telling the boys that losing is not the end of the world, but it could be used as the begining of Arsenal’s rage. No more talking the talk of being more ruthless on the pitch. It is time to WALK THE WALK of being ruthless. And there will be no better stage to put our new ruthlessness on display than our next league match. So, my sympathies go in advance to the team set to get hammered 6-0 or worse.

COME ON ARSENAL!!!

No inferiority complex. Rio was a whale of a player in defense. I wish we could have had the money to buy him. Certainly worth his money, unlike Shrek. I just thought we should have been more direct, running at them and forcing them to chop us down outside the box, like they did to Reyes on the flanks - even though Riley waved play on at least once when they did so. I think we passed the ball a bit too much. I don’t know about the Europe games since I don’t see that many.
