Roadtrip report on Chelsea game Guess Who’s Coming to Play Football?
Dec 14

Ed. Note - Normally I don’t worry too much about stuff like this, but in this case it does raise an interesting point. I doubt that the club will think, or care, about this. The obvious answer is to make sure the away/change strip is yellow, as it should be…

Picture the scene, CL game at Ashburton Grove and we are required to wear the away kit (it happens sometimes). It’s the unpopular, unsuccessful blue shirt. It bears the name of our new sponsor “Fly Emirates”. Nuff said.

Do we really want the fans who support that small club in Fulham to ask “Are you Chelsea in disguise?”

Let’s campaign to get rid of it now. You know it makes sense.

I don’t know what color Russian money is, but perhaps we could petition Chelsea to change their kits to that if the campaign fails.

Well said. Money is killing the game. I can’t even believe Arsenal is the most expensive club in the land. Gone past Cheski. What a joke.

By the way that is how some Palace fans thinks about us. It was not funny but read a funny joke sometime ago, whether can you tell the difference between Arsenal and M K Dons?

I have been against this Emirate crap like most people and fans if you really sit down and read what is going on. It was not just the money otherwise Bank of Scotland would have been our new sponsor. As I always said football is not about the winning but what is going on behind the closed doors.

Call me old fashion or traditionalist but as some folks says you can tell a Chelsea support from a Cheski fan. 50 yrs without history where were they. Same with Arsenal. Some folks are happy so far as the club is winning

Not to forget I hope the traders wins their case against Arsenal tomorrow at the High Court.

Personally, I think FOOTBALL issue is what it really matters. Hell, i don’t even like the design of current home kit. And giving choice, I would like to go back to the single Gunner with 3 A,F,C cannon balls club crest design of the eighty’s… but this is the 21 century now, like it or not, we have to move on.

At the end of the day, as long as our team keep playing good football with a lot of heart and effort, I wouldn’t care if we wear brown colour and with a big Mac logo on the middle of the kit.

If our team play lazily and getting trashed game after game, even if we have the stylish kit, and coolest sponser logo, that wouldn’t mean anything, would it?

I think the point people are making is that there is a lot of tradition tied up with this club, but that seems to be getting lost when money gets tossed around. So much so that it’s getting to the point where there is a situation where are team could end up looking exactly like another club in London…just because someone was willing to pay the club ridiculous amounts of money.

I’m not too crazy about the Emirates thing either…but it doesn’t look like there’s anything that can be done about it now. And I highly doubt the club bows down to any campaign and gives back that much cash. I suppose we’ll have to get used to it.

Thanks that is what I was trying to say. Of course the club have to move on and catch up with society but that does not mean we sell our proud tradition and values.

    Right on!

This is not the first time I have written on this topic of COLOURS. Yes as an artist I feel kind of colour blind holding onto to these inane superstitions.

The blue away kit sucks big time and if you look at Arsenal’s record this year wearing it in big games, well it equals losses for the lads. (Manure, Liverpool).

Blue is definitely a colour we want to push to the back of the locker.

Indeed, let us get rid of it now.

AWAY WITH BLUE NOT BECAUSE WE’RE YELLOW BUT BECAUSE IT TURNS US RED ? which is the colour we should be!

Hey, how’ja figger out how to post photos? Cool.

Well, from the looks of it they shouldn’t have any problem finding a scheme that’s fey enough. May I suggest a rose and lavendar combination, Mr. Mourinho?

  10. ScottyUS Says:

Gotta compete, I guess. To do that, you get marginally attractive, copy-cat kits.

Don’t know about anyone else, but I’m really kind of dreading the move to the new stadium. Highbury has such character and is really distinct, and experience with the web site has turned me off, the blue bib kits turn me off, the Emirates logo turns me off…

…did anyone see those celebrations when Yeading got drawn against Newcastle? Nice.
