The ArsenalAmerica banner, fresh off a trip to London, is going to be in San Francisco this weekend for the Portsmouth game. It’s been airing out for a few days (imagine if you stayed in a pub all week) and should be hanging (we hope) in “Mad Dog in the Fog” for the Sunday game against Portsmouth. We haven’t got the go yet from the bar, but we’re hopeful they’ll let it go up for this game (it’s a huge flag)
The banner, paid by contributions from ArsenalAmerica members, will be making its way back across the US from San Francisco to many points in between. The banner was signed by Frankie Simek and Danny K during the roadtrip last year, and is quite an eye opener at about 10 x 15 feet large. Stay tuned for more sites that will be displaying this banner as it roadtrips across the country.

Would love to see it in Seattle at the George & Dragon if it might be heading this direction…

Sorry, I was going to comment but got lost in the glorious fantasy of being caught in a pub all week.
Dark Horse, Philly! Aaaand may I suggest the reverse Chelsea fixture. Philly has a pretty healthy Blues following.

I had the banner up for the ManUre match this season. It was the first time I had even seen the fan base split into two different rooms. All the Arsenal supporters stayed in the room where I had hung the banner, and the ManUre fans went elsewhere.
I have pictures that will be posted eventually…

I was in Florida, otherwise I would’ve been there. Split into two rooms??? Wow…probably makes sense. That’s a nasty mix, though the folks at the DH generally show good behavior.
I had words where I saw the game. Fella right next to me wouldn’t shut up. Henry f*king this, Vieira f*king that. The ManU fans were surely the worst of the lot. I was rather shocked. Finally, after a half hour of biting my lip, I had to show him a little heat. It became unnecessarily insulting as I was showing his team, and him, AND his young son, respect. Nothing more came about, thankfully.
As luck would have it, I saw him again a few days later? miles from the pub?pushing his other severely retarded son in a wheelchair. My heart sunk a bit. He didn’t see me, but I won’t forget that lesson on perspective.

It would be welcomed at the Fox and Hounds in Studio City, CA (Los Angeles), the owner, Gary is a gooner. ***** n Bull may not be as welcoming to it but its worth a shot.

Don’t take it to the C#ck ‘N Bull pub because they would burn it as it’s full of scouse and manc bastards

Clichy, van Persie and Flamini start, Fab is rested and Dennis is on the bench.

Second half approaching…think Fab is rested enough?
December 19th, 2004 at 12:08 pm
No, I think Cesc should sit for a few games… start playing the likes of Pennant, VanPersie & Flamini…

I am honored to be the first ArseAmer to say…SOL GOOOAAAAAAALLLLL!
December 19th, 2004 at 1:23 pm
No set piece nightmares…
A van Persie start that nearly resulted in an early goal…
A keeper who busted a** for the clean sheet…
Kolo clears time and again…
A goal from a prominent defender…
A classic George Graham grinded out result…
All in all, a very FLAWED, but GREAT day for The Arsenal.
Enjoy your Thanksgiving Ashley. Eat up!

Ooops, Guinness in effect…change Thanksgiving day to Boxing day.
Cheers!

Great goal, but worrying that it took Sol (the only one who wasn’t being man-marked?) to break through. Great goalkeeping too but we could be punished for those punches by a stronger team? Maybe I’m excessively pessimistic but it seems to me we should be scoring a bit more against a weakened Portsmouth. Still, lots of people predicted a draw so I guess I should be pleased at the point

Cesc needs to be rested precisely because he’s so good. If Wenger thinks he has already played him more than he choose this season, then it’s essential Cesc is now given as much rest as he needs.

I’ll take these wins anyday. Plus a clean sheet. Who says you have to be at your best? Anyone can win at their best. It’s winning on an off day that’s the key. That’s why we were dropping points to West Brom & co.
And Pompey was a HUGE banana skin. They beat ManU 2-0, remember? Their recent form is one of the best in the premiership. It was two draws last season. One-nil it is today, and I’ll gladly take it.

Miranda… yes I’d say a bit pessimistic.
We won…. we kept a clean sheet… no set-piece goals… jumped back over Everton.
Take it for its positivity. We can’t possibly always turn on the style and get 3-1 wins…
We started VanPersie, Flamini and Clichy.
With ALOT of matches coming up in a short period of time over the holidays… we NEED these players in there getting prominent minutes. ALL POSITIVE.
