Ed. Note - This smacks of self-indulgence, but I think it’s kind of cool that that way-too-big banner is travelling across the country…
Just wanted to let all Southern California based Gooners that the Arsenal America banner will be making appearances at The Fox and Hounds, 11100 Ventura Blvd, Studio City this coming week when Gary Richards (owner) will have it displayed during the Newcastle and Charlton games that will be televised. So come on down with your cameras and get your pix taken with the official flag of Arsenal America. For directions on how to get there and other details go to http://www.thefoxandhounds.com or call (818)763-7976.

Just wondering how much it would run me
to have that beautiful linen make a Canadian
appearance.

Hmmm…the more I think on it I realize that the banner would go perfectly with the rest of the decor over my fireplace hearth. How much for a semi-permanent loan if I promise to fill my place with lots of Gooners and we get really, really pissed on Guinness?
OR…we could auction it round the world to help buy King AND Gerard in January! Or how ’bout edging Souness out of Babayaro? Maybe we could use a Nigerian to replace Kanu?
Speaking of Souness, he said his squad’s down to bones. And then he said something interesting:
‘We had two 18-year-olds start the game on Sunday. When we line up in the tunnel, I want the opposition to look at the 11 players who are starting the game and think `bloody hell, we are in against men today’.
“That is the aim. When we line up against Arsenal, we will be looking at them in their stature and their age and what they have achieved in the game, and they are all bloody men.”
Kind of nice compliment to Clichey, Cesc, Reyes, and RVP, I would say.
