A bit of an observation from the Wolves match…
Henry - He’s a weird player who seems to only get fired up when he’s angry. Titi spent the first half doing virtually nothing but walk and stand. Nevertheless, after Mike “I-love-Man-U-and-everybody-knows-I-do” Riley robbed Henry’s first goal as usual, Titi turned himself into a lion and was our star man of the second half. By the way, the goal that never was, just like the one against Blackburn a season ago was LEGAL. Michael Oakes dropped the ball before he attempted a goal kick, Henry stole the ball away after the ball left Oakes’ hand, never had any contact with Oakes’ body part, and it’s ruled out???
Lehmann - He didn’t really do much as Wolves hardly had a shot on goal. So I can’t say he had have a bad game. Yet, he was guilty of almost doing an Eeckleman [the Villa keeper who let the ball skip past his feet and roll into the net a couple seasons' back, not sure if I spelled his name right]. It turned out to be the most dangerous Wolves’ attack the whole match - from an Arsenal defender back pass… I would like to think when you have lost your first-team place, Lehmann should have at least tried to stay FOCUSED. A mistake like this certainly won’t help his cause on winning the starting place.
Eboue - The new right back once again proved that we don’t need to spend millions to get ourselves a good player, as long as Arsene is there. Once again, a new signing nobody has heard of made a big impression in his 2nd appearance with the first team. Strong, quick, skillful, and much more confident going forward than the young Justin Hoyte. It’s too early to say he’s going to make it, yet the early sign is very promising.
Vieira - When Paddy stepped up and took the spot kick, the image of when he skied the spot kick a couple seasons’ back against Sunderland began flashing in my mind… Luckily Paddy kept it low and placed a powerful shot into the right botton corner. It looked easy, but I bet it took a lot of guts, particularly when you consider Paddy must have been well aware of the consequences had he missed the penalty… In general, Vieira and Flamini had another good performance playing together in the heart of our midfield.
Ljungberg, van Persie, Reyes - Freddie was always Freddie, full of running and EARNED his goal by never stoppin his running into space. I am extremely pleased with van Persie and Reyes’ work rate as well.
Cygan - When he’s bad, he’s really bad. But when he’s having a good game, he’s pretty solid to be fair.
