FA Cup Discussion- Sheffield United

I don’t believe it is necessary to discuss the finer points of Sheffield United. I gave all I knew in the first match; not expecting a replay. So, instead of reprinting what has already been said ,I hope everyone will jump in and give an opinion on what needs to be done. The FA Cup appears to be our season and this match becomes so very important.

Manchester United had a scare at Old Trafford when they were visited by Exeter. In the replay they took care of business winning 2-0, not pretty but still winning. At the weekend they were nearing the end of time with a 1-1 scoreline with Pompey. They managed to get one as time was nearing the end and though it was not pretty……they won. This is the biggest difference between them and us. At times it may not be pretty but they win. Results, results, results! How many times have the Gunners taken a one goal lead to the end, only to lose that lead. So many times I’ve lost count. Its about guts, and testicular fortitude and the Gunners have prove to have none.Heresey you may say! Arsenal would not be in this situation if they showed the kind of grit that was shown last season.

It’s about going out and scoring more goals; as simple as that sounds it’s been the achilles heel.
The Gunners still win 2-0!

Stuart Taylor may not be good enough, but he at least deserves a CHANCE.

I have watched Stuart Taylor almost every game when he played, surely can’t recall there were so many mistakes he had made like some have suggested. Taylor played 1/3 of our 2002 double winning campaign, with Seaman troubled by injury all season, and Richard Wright hardly impressed, if Taylor was that crap, we wouldn’t be able to win the double.

When someone wants to pick on a ‘keeper’s mistakes, it’s easy, ‘cos EVERY keeper made mistakes, even Schmeichel and Seaman.

Arsenal v. Soton Post-Mortem Continued

Holy cow, too many posts to sift through. I’ll kick off a new batch with the following thoughts:

Wenger: A bit hasty to call for his ousting. I love how all of us complain about his lack of moves in the transfer market. Right, becuase if YOU were the manager you would have just called up another team, asked if you could have their international defender, written a check and it’s just that easy. Um, no.

Robin v. Persie: Dumb move kid. But in the first half he at least gave it a go. Got the ball and tried to put a shot on goal. That’s what was needed and too few others were willing to try that until the 80th minute. If you’re offering me a 2008 tandem of Reyes and van Persie I would take it every time.

Jens/Alumunia v. Taylor: That’s so cool how all you guys are at every Arsenal practice and can evaluate all three keepers, and thus know that Taylor is the best option. Do you guys really believe that Taylor is better and that Wenger is keeping him out for some reason?
