The UEFA Champion’s League knock-out stages are upon us. I can’t remember this many mouth-watering match-ups… in one round. Alas, most of us won’t get to see these fantastic ambassadors for the game we love. Its a damned shame.
ESPN Deportes.
Is there anyone out there that has this channel?
Does anyone know about it… if its on a certain cable network? If its available on some satellite package? I can’t seem to get info on it.
On the ESPN site…. they show TV LISTINGS buried somewhere down the page.
ONE MATCH: Man Utd v. AC Milan
no great shock there…. to be honest, its a great match-up…
however… they aren’t showing any replay of it… and there are 7 other matches.
ESPN Deportes is showing ALL 8 MATCHES.
Yes, thats correct. ALL OF THEM. One live match each day… then the rest following, one after another. A BRILLIANT IDEA. I’d LOVE to see ALL the matches. Barca / Chelsea! Arsenal / Munich!
Its a CRIMINAL OFFENSE against soccer fans in this country that we can’t see the matches. So I ask if anyone knows anything about ESPN Deportes? Does anyone know if its on Satellite. Does anyone know if there are ANY bars that have access to the matches?
Someone send me a lifeline! A glimmer of hope!

I found this site and watched a game a few weeks ago…
http://www.freelivefootball.co.uk/home/
Pay a few quid for live games through your pc….
Cheaper than my arsenal plus subscription….

That would be fantastic to see the Arsenal match. Just wish I could see ALL of them. I will certainly check out that site. Thank You.

Pity you don’t live out here in Los Angeles. If I can’t get to see an Arsenal game on Fox Soccer Channel or basic PPV I always have the option of going to the Fox & Hounds pub in Studio City where the owner gets all of Arsenal’s Champions League games via satellite.

ESPN should wash their hands of soccer, and let FSC do the job. I’m fed up of their half-hearted coverage.
Anyway N’Castle leading 1-0 w/ Cudicini sent off. Hope they win so we can hear no more of this foolish talk of 4 trophies…
Whistle Just Went. Chelski is gone!!

Yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!
for all you unabashed lovers of Jose’ Moron-ho…
he just COST his team any chance of the FA CUP.
He made 3 substitutions at half-time.
BRILLIANT tactical decision.
Bridge gets injured, is stretchered off… (possible broken ankle)… and they have to play with 10 men for the last 40 minutes, down a goal.
They have NOT scored an EVEN STRENGTH goal since Robben went out.
Absolutely LOVE IT.
Absolutely MADE MY WEEKEND.
Now when Barcelona STUFF them this week in the Champion’s League… we’ll see how they respond to the adversity and injuries. (apparently Duff and Gallas picked up slight knocks too).
United are ROLLING. Would LOVE to see Chelsea draw or lose one in the league…… and both United and the Arsenal pick up the points and draw a little bit closer…… just to make things interesting, and see if the choke noose fits around Chelsea’s neck.
February 20th, 2005 at 1:41 pm
Remember when he said “I’m a special one.” He’s special all right…special NEEDS.
Thank the gods. Come on Barca!!!
February 20th, 2005 at 1:48 pm
Oh how I wish I’d watched it! Turned on the radio near the end of the game to hear that Glen Johnson was putting on Cudicdini’s gloves and trying to make a save with his knees! Priceless, joy unbounded, forza forza Barca

I agree it was good seeing Newcastle beat Chelsea, but, cmon guys…
1- Mourinho is certainly not a moron. He took a gamble and lost. Anyone remember the result against Sheffield United yesterday? Wenger didn’t exactly come up trumps then either.
2- Why are we so concerned about how other clubs get on in Europe? If Chelsea wins, they win; if they lose, they lose. Either way we still think the Arsenal will win the Champions League, right? Or are some of us secretly a bit afraid of a repeat of last year? Going back to Mourinho not being moronic, as much as I hate to say it… his CV for accomplishments in Europe appears far better than that of Wenger.
Yeah yeah, you can say it, “Are you Chelsea in disguise?” Of course not. I just think we’re becoming a bit too concerned with Chelsea doing poorly than with Arsenal doing well. To quote love_Gunners, “Back to football.” Arsenal football, that is.
February 20th, 2005 at 2:30 pm
Geez Clarkey…can’t we have just one short afternoon of smug, self-satisfaction?
Mourinho’s arrogance is legendary, and he got stuffed by it. At least we netted once. Truthfully, I think Sheffield United could take Newcastle.
And the more they lose, the better it is for us in terms of their sinking morale, which means a chance of taking away a trophy from them, thus proving that silverware can’t always be bought. Its all connected.
February 20th, 2005 at 3:07 pm
I just think it’s a little early to be so smug. Remember when Man City stuffed Man Yoo something like 5-1 the season before last, but Man Yoo went on to win the title anyway? I’m afraid we might start to sound a bit too much like one brand of City fan, who doesn’t particularly care if they win anything so long as they see United take a bit of a beating.
February 20th, 2005 at 3:09 pm
It’s sweet to finally indulge in some Schadenfreude at Chelsea’s expense… it was truly Mourniho’s arrogance that cost them this match, and the Cup. Misfortune couldn’t have befallen a more deserving fellow!
February 20th, 2005 at 3:21 pm
I certainly see what you’re saying. I just don’t think that they should have all the money AND all the luck. We’re a better team, but our problems have been well-documented by the press, while Chelsea have been teflon. They’re buying titles, and when you consider how we’ve come up, a Gooner’s bound to be a little resentful.
Actually, I think Chelsea, apart from a grating way about theri manager, are class. They’re putting on a show and dong well with the flexibility all that money is affording them. But do I want them to geat our streak in the very next effort after we’ve recorded it? No. Do I want them to be the first in history to win a quadruple? No. As far as the other comp’s, I just want US to beat them.
February 20th, 2005 at 3:31 pm
I agree with everyone! I admire Mourinho but if he screws up on the odd afternoon, God yes, let’s enjoy it. I’m also a Barca nut - not a supporter, they’re not my team, but they were my first love - so Chelsea’s setback at this moment gladdens my heart. And a little demoralisation of the seemingly undefeatable can’t do us any harm either.
February 20th, 2005 at 10:18 pm
Pretty Simple for me Clarkey.
On this ARSENAL website… I’ve seen far to much fawning over Chelsea and their manager. They are human… frankly, Head to Head… with no injuries…. best teams on the pitch… I think WE WOULD ABSOLUTELY STUFF THEM.
It was a STUPID move by Mourinho. He cost them the match. Its a CUP… so one off and you are done.
It DOES have significance. They LOST. They aren’t invincible, only WE WERE in the league last year. Doubt COULD set in. Injuries are occuring for them. They lose to Barca… do you think there might be some second guessing…. lets see us draw CLOSER in the league… and see if they choke.
I’d love to see them spend more than the whole damned league… and come away with ZERO.
Its not likely to happen. They WILL likely win the league… but WHY WOULDN’T I BE HAPPY ABOUT THEM LOSING>??

What comes around…..goes around!:)lol Finally the footballing gods are giving Moanwhingo and his overrated jerks a reality check. The blip has started! Cudicini suspended for his last chance of glory:)lol It really felt like Christmas watching them get done by the barcodes yesterday:)lol Injuries starting to mount up as well. No Robben, No Bridge, No Duff, No Gallas:)lol God must definitely be a Gooner:)
February 21st, 2005 at 9:32 am
Mark my words….come the time we go to the Kremlin (Stamford Bridge) in April, Chelscum’s season will be over for them!:)lol
February 21st, 2005 at 9:33 am
It was well worth paying Adelphia’s PPV charges to see them get their come uppance:)
February 21st, 2005 at 9:34 am
It’s not that I’m concerned about them myself. I just think that Moanwhingo needs to be taken down a peg or two!
February 21st, 2005 at 9:35 am
here here!
February 21st, 2005 at 9:37 am
All we need now is for the FA to dock them points for ‘tapping’ Cole and that’ll be it for them…..FINITO:)
February 21st, 2005 at 9:38 am
Maybe Rick can start a Chelsea Schadenfreude page now
February 21st, 2005 at 9:40 am
Just hope that Messrs Silvinho, Van Bronckhorst and Ronaldinho do the business on Wednesday:)
February 21st, 2005 at 9:51 am
I can’t say that I agree with you, Stag. I haven’t seen any fawning over Mourinho at all. I, like many, rate him highly and respect him. That’s hardly falling over one another to polish his shoes.
Yes, Mourinho took a gamble and lost. Whether that is stupid or not is debatable. Surely he could not have foreseen the injuries so many Chelsea players picked up - that was just hard luck. I for one hate seeing any players get injured just because they play for an opposing team, as it gives your rival an excuse as to why they lost.
And yes, their loss may have significance. I stress the word “may”. Nothing has happened yet. We should watch how soon we brag; as I said, this could ironically be the impetus for Chelsea to go out there and win everything else in front of them. Who knows?
We were invincible in the league last year, but not the Champions League. Remember who put an end to that? Crow doesn’t taste good, and I had more than my share that afternoon. Please, all I’m saying is… let’s wait a little while longer before we gloat. The football gods are fickle, and I for one am not going to be thrown into a volcano to appease them.

If you live in Canada the game is being broadcast on TSN - The Sports Channel at 00:00 am EST Wednesday Feb. 23.
At least it says it will be aired on Rogers Digital TV Guide.
Enjoy.
Go Gunners!
