The ArsenalAmerica banner, paid for by the generous donations of the ArsenalAmerica members, will be on display at the Lucky Bar pub today for the Arsenal-Chelsea game. Chelsea’s DC fan group will also be there, with their puny girly-man flag that will be dwarfted by the massive Arsenal banner.
See you there.

Big up respect for ArseAm DC and the banner. Fly it with pride no matter what the outcome today.

If there is anything I can do to help get the banner to the Globe in Chicago this spring let me know.
We’d love to have it for the FA Cup final if possible and I can take up a collection for shipping costs.

looks like a one goal game 0-0 at 55 mins..and i am sweating bullets and putting my academic future in doubt by following this game….go arsenal!!!
April 20th, 2005 at 4:28 pm
chelsea dominating the 2nd half and i think i am about to pass out becoz of the tension!!!!!
April 20th, 2005 at 4:43 pm
Chelsea hasn’t dominated. Vieira & Pires, superb. Reyes good movement, but poor final balls. (And don’t tell me you haven’t been screaming too).
Overall a good team effort, very solid at the back.

Could we have used Mr. Henry today, or what? This was a very defensive game. A draw is definitely good…we pretty much matched Chel$ki in every way.
April 20th, 2005 at 5:00 pm
Not the result I was hoping for, but we played well from what I’ve read. And the fact that ManU lost to Everton, and Gary Neville got sent off for kicking a ball at a spectator, and at least we have something else to watch Sky sports for!
If only Bobby’d finished one of his chances! Still, nil, nil away at The Bridge without an on-form striker…I’d say that is a result we can live with.
April 20th, 2005 at 5:00 pm
A draw as somewhat expected but I’d've guessed 1-1 not 0-0.
But Man U lost at Everton so there’s a bit of space for us now to solidfy 2nd place & the automatic CL spot.

Oh…another clean sheet for Senderos!
April 20th, 2005 at 5:15 pm
Yeah, Clean-Sheet Senderos. He was also man of the match (British Airways). Don’t see why Campbell should get his place back, except if he doesn’t, he’ll whine and ask for a transfer. Even Lehmann seems more solid these days.
Think Van Persie should have started or Ali. Reyes as usual was lousy at passing, spoiling the flow. Besides what’s up with his 89th minute dive? I mean he’d already beat his man, why did he go down, when there was such minimal contact?.
Paddy was a giant, seems back to his best. Gilberto was too. Cesc, was well, Cesc (a compliment). I took one look at the teamsheet and I couldn’t see where the goals would come from, apart from Bobby, of course.
ManU lose again, so all in all a good day. It strengthens our hold on second place, they got two men sent off, and it’s not like beating Chelsea would have changed anythiing, trophy-wise. Still would have wanted it though, but still, a fair result.

We were better than them but - I think - their tactics were superior.
Lots of chances early but, unsurprisingly, no one to take them. By the time we belatedly brought on van P and Ali, Mourinho knew how to neutralise our attack with Tiago.
No complaints. Reyes worked very hard defensively - he’s just incapable of scoring at present (as most of us assumed in advance). Dennis was anonymous in the first third - and I was screaming for him to come off - but in the middle he did deliver his wondeful killer balls. Sad they were useless.
Excellent defence, esp. Ash. Confirms my feeling that a striker is a priority.
Very interesting, the Manure’s childish kicking - as ever. I don’t like Everton but credit to them for never playing dirty but so often getting results.

Just like back in December, our chances were not taken. In December, we should have won 5-2. And today in the first half, easily should have been 2-0.
I guess I should really stop computing points and dreaming of a miracle. I had figured (like others) a win tonight might have trigged a probable crumble for the blues — Chelsea’s next 3 away games are to Bolton (not easy with Bolton chasing 4th), Man U and Newcastle. And their two home games are against London teams (Fulham and Charlton), so maybe, one of them might have been a tie.
None the less, I am not complaining
I would still love to see the Gunners keep more clean sheets and close the gap to as much as they can. And then there is the F.A Cup final to look ahead too.

I can not believe what we have just sat through. Chels cost ? Billion pounds to assemble but they were happy to play out a draw at home against a weaken Arsenal side; I thought this type of football finished when clubs stopped hiring George Graham. Yes, they will have success from playing this way but they won?t win many plaudits.
Yes they deserve to be Champions because they have the best defense and they have been the most consistent team this year but if this is the way football is going God help us.
April 21st, 2005 at 5:17 am
yes i think this confirms it…striker/play maker (DB10 type) has got to be priority along with goal keeper and centre back.
April 21st, 2005 at 5:22 am
yes a very very good defensive performance. even jens made a great save from dorgba. but it raises a lot of questions, do u disturb the kolo-senderos partnership now and bring in sol putting kolo where RB, bech?? do we still needto buy a top-class central defender? if so then which two are sitting out??? but its definitely better to have such problems rather than those we had when we were shipping in goals!
April 21st, 2005 at 5:26 am
the fact is they have wonthe league..the’ve played attacking football when they needed to (barca, bayern), their onfield consistency and performances have been better than ours. if they chose to accept a 0-0 draw thats their choice to make, we had to find a way around it which we didnt. but yes i do agree for all their money i dont think they have more talent that us and i think a full strength arsenal with freddie and th14 would have won us the game.
April 21st, 2005 at 7:03 am
True, but who would you rather watch every week them or us?
I cannot see their supporters standing for that type of football every season, the first couple of season’s if they are winning things they will turn a blind eye but after that they will expect more from their team.

Can anyone help me please. I am a East Lower Season Ticket holder at the Home of Football, and due to bad planning will not be able to attend the FA Cup final (first final in 20 years that I have missed) I will be instead be in Orlando with the family. I know bad planning but i took a gamble that we would make the CL final and could get back for that. (I can dream)
This is where i need some help does anyone know any pubs/bars in the area that they will be showing the FAC so at least i can watch it on TV before I fly home on Saturday Night. I am staying in International Drive and would love to watch the game with some fellow Gooners.
Hope some one can help?
Oh 2 B A Gooner!
Fingers.
PS if anyone comes over the Highbury drop me a note.

Teabag - I have to confess that I am not the most gifted in all things cyberspace (its taken me 30 mins to try and reply to you) I have know idea how to place a message on the message board - i tried an failed again! Any help would be gratefully received.
Getting desperate as i really need to see the game somewhere i even looked into flights to Cardiff but with a cost of ?500+ cash one way and a wife and three kids also giving me grief i have to admit defeat. Have agreed hat I can take my flag to the pub - i you have been Europe away you may have seen it?
If you fancy a beer before the Spuds game I will probably be in the Bailey Holloway Road beforehand. I will be the bloke with 9 fingers (hence the name) lost it in Florence watching the Arse!
Did you go the Semi?

Please don’t tell me you were the guy who got his hands cought in the barbed and razor wire against Batigol and co?!!!!!!!
Which is your flag? The one I travel with is Old Street on a Union Jack, it goes everywhere in Europe?
April 26th, 2005 at 8:50 am
Sorry for not coming back sooner had half day yesterday for a few beers and feeling awful today, but hey one over the scum all makes it worthwhile. When was the last time we took 6 points off them in a season?
I was indeed the silly bloke that ripped his finger off inside the ground against Florentina, missing the 2nd half!
My flag is the Essex Gooners Flag with the 30’s badge in the middle (blood stains and all). I have seen the Old Street flag loads.
Are you going to the Amsterdam Tournament pre-season always a laugh that one?
Still can’t work out how to place a message on the main mesage board, I am desperate to watch the game with some Gooners in Orlando, flag an all.
Fingers

I did a quick search, and found two pubs in the Orlando area that are reputed to show EPL/FA Cup matches…
Bull & Bush, 2404 E. Robinson Street, 407-896-7546
Darren Green says, “it’s Orlando’s most authentic English pub and has football on TV every hour that the pub is open on big screen TV.”
Cricketer’s Arms
8445 International Drive
(In the Mercado Marketplace)
Orlando, Florida, USA
407-354-0686
I checked out the website for the Cricketer’s Arms, and it looks like it’s run by a bunch of Chelski supporters. May want to stay away from there. The Bull & Bush doesn’t have a website (at least none that I found.) I tried the Bull & Bush several times, but got no answer. I did speak to someone at the Cricketer’s Arms, but the gentleman there didn’t know if they’d be showing the Cup Final. He assumes they will be, but didn’t want to say for certain. He thinks their webpage listing what events will be featured in May should be updated sometime this week.
