Though securing second place is essential - and obviously shouldn’t be compromised - I think we could use the run-in to prepare for next year - prepare by experimenting a little so as better to consider our strengths and our needs.

Forget about the defence for the moment - clearly a keeper has the first claim on our resources, and equally clearly it would be nice to buy a defender if we have money to spare - but those are issues for later. What seems a more pressing question at present is the midfield, especially the wings, and way they connect, or fail to connect, with the strikers....

ESPN Soccernet is reporting that Juventus striker David Trezeguet is interested in pairing with fellow Frenchman Henry as a striking pair at Highbury. He’s 27, but I think he’d be an effective addition to the Gunners. Defenses in EPL would have lots to worry about with Theirry and Trezeguet up front.

I don’t understand why these days whatever words coming out from Wenger’s mouth, it has become “EXCUSE” to some people?

Take the latest Reyes debate on this site as an example, Wenger said Reyes did well in training and start to improving. Ok, on the pitch, to be fair, none of us has seen any sign of improvement from Reyes. This is a FACT. But what has Reyes’ failure to deliver so far to do with “excuse” [from Wenger]? Personally, I think people are starting to overuse this word.

God I love this photo. This poor lass is grieving the Spurs Carling Cup final loss from a few years back.

No real reason to run this other than we play Spurs on Monday. I may just run this photo every day until then.

Ha!

Even before the season is over, Arsenal must strive to eliminate the clouds of uncertainty regarding next year’s squad: Who is staying? And who is leaving? These decisions have to made as soon as possible so that preparations for next season are not hampered by useless rumors. This may seem like an obvious statement but unfortunately Arsenal have not been able to silence all the rumors. The only exception was the issue regarding Henry’s future. Arsenal’s answer was simple: Henry is not for sale! Issue closed and no more interested parties lurking about.

Last year’s...

Ed. Note — This should go over well with the pro-Wenger and pro-women crowd…

After the excessive irritation and blinding annoyance over yet another failed test of character; witnessing our inability to deliver once again when it counts, seeing the same issues over and over again (By the way Danny T is absolutely spot on regarding this. Wenger has not a clue when it comes to on field tactics. He?s also showing overt partiality to Reyes…will discuss more later. )

I?m forced to contemplate how life must be for married men (not being married myself but approaching...

A lot of thoughts after viewing the match:

First, that was a pretty entertaining game. How many times do you see a match with 22 top quality players? I mean, there was not one guy out there you could exploit. Absolute class all over the pitch.

Now, on to Arsenal’s performance. I really couldn’t fault any player too much. Here’s my breakdown:

Alex Fergusson is perhaps the most over rated coach in the league right now.
His achievements were in the last century. The past few years he has just been living of them.

I mean he has had a tremendous hold on the league and had a lot of money and power backing him up.

Imagine, what is the need to get a youth system going or the need to discover a new player. You just buy a good player, from the umpteen leagues existing in Europe and then you pair them up with the existing one’s.Success is mostly guaranteed!!

And whenever there is the need to spruce things up,you...

The ArsenalAmerica banner, paid for by the generous donations of the ArsenalAmerica members, will be on display at the Lucky Bar pub today for the Arsenal-Chelsea game. Chelsea’s DC fan group will also be there, with their puny girly-man flag that will be dwarfted by the massive Arsenal banner.

See you there.
