Given that we’re in the beginning of the silly season and have little else to talk about besides wild unsubstantiated transfer rumors, I thought I might submit a miniscule (and admittedly way off-topic) problem to all of the illustrious minds here at ArseAm.

The problem is this:
About 10 years ago I purchased a football manager sim (on PC) for my aunt. For the better part of a year and a half, she was absolutely hooked on it, but lost her copy of the game shortly before her system melted.

Since then, she’s gone through extended phases with other (some might...

I was just sitting here reflecting on the season as I prepare a few things for next year, when it sort of hit me that, like NCAA football, a lot of teams came out of this season with something to boast.

However, a lot of teams came out of the season with not much to brag about. So I thought a quick match game would help pass the time…

1. Arsenal a) UEFA Champs
2. Chelsea b) FA Cup
3....

Thanks to stag133 for point out this story.

It’s official what we’ve heard and expected. Arsenal has released Americans Frank Simek and Danny Karbassiyoon when their contracts expire this Summer. Frank and Danny have been great to ArsenalAmerica and we’ll be sad to see them depart. Frank will likely sign with another club in England, and we haven’t heard from Danny but he has been plying his trade while on loan recently so perhaps he will stay over as well.

gleas3 asks:

“Any new Americans we can recommend to replace Karbassiyoon...

Arsenal. The team we all love. Yet sometimes I have been guilty of paying too much attention to a certain other opponent. Maybe I get caught up in the media hype, who are always trying to promote matches by creating a rivalry. Face it, a rivalry is great for ratings — there has to be a good guy and a bad guy. In the past, this opponent has always been Man U. I have had my reasons for disliking them. One reason had to do with how Canadian tv always showed Man U games. That is not going to change for the next little while. As much as I hate that fact, I have to accept it. Then the next...

To all Gooners accross the Pond,

I’m from London and this is my first post on AA. Great to hear all your comments and to know that there are so many Reds over there. For those that didn’t make it to Cardiff, don’t you think that in some ways, beating Manure in the manner that we did, was even more enjoyable! Especially when you saw the look on Fergusons face at the end.

Watching Liverpools unbelievable Champions League success on Wednesday made me (and I’m sure all Gooners) wish that was Paddy lifting that trophy. Mark my words, as a Highbury regular, with...

Well, it isn’t really news now that the U.S. will be tackling the English national team here in Chicago this Saturday (May 28, 2005).

Anyway, after checking out the official website for the tour -

http://www.thefa.com/England/

and picking up a few snippets of information here and there, it turned out that England were to have a practise session at my university, the Illinois Institute of Technology!

What goes around comes around after years of seeing Manure flash their money & push their way like louts with A F at the helm along comes a bigger lout Glazer . I live in Tampa Bay The team he acquired was on its way up he had little to do with there Super bowl. He did however make us build a new stadium under threat he would move the team. He fired a fine coach Tony Dungie & gave a ready made team to Gruden. I think they would have won the Super bowl with T D.

Clichy is a player who gives Arsenal pace in going forward, he was Wenger’s magic card last season, He played left back, Left wing, and whatever the situation requires from him he would finish the job, so I really admire him and wished he was available.

I read every day about how Man Utd were better than Arsenal despite loosing, it is known that Wenger changed the system this one time but we looked like we couldn’t match them entire the game, some analysis said that we adopted the same system as Man Utd for that match but it didn’t work at all, Why? Because the players...

Wenger defended his tactics, saying: “When we played United at Highbury and lost 4-2 we were outnumbered in midfield and we paid for it so I didn’t want that to happen again. That’s why I put Dennis up front and gave Reyes a free role.”

I thought we lost 4-2 because the worthless Almunia ran out of his goal like a lunatic and gave United a tap in. Also, the hopeless Pascal Cygan was all over the place from start to finish in that match, as usual. Big question, does Wenger need new spectacles?
