Wenger’s mystery tactics unearthed man u buccaneers
May 27

Clichy is a player who gives Arsenal pace in going forward, he was Wenger’s magic card last season, He played left back, Left wing, and whatever the situation requires from him he would finish the job, so I really admire him and wished he was available.

I read every day about how Man Utd were better than Arsenal despite loosing, it is known that Wenger changed the system this one time but we looked like we couldn’t match them entire the game, some analysis said that we adopted the same system as Man Utd for that match but it didn’t work at all, Why? Because the players on the field couldn’t get along with the new sysytem.

I saw the match and found out that only Ronaldo and Rooney caused us all the trouble and some times van Nistelroy.

So what does that tell you? there only two players with pace did that damage to us, on the other side we didn’t have any player with pace.

Reyes was the only palyer that you feel he could do something and go forward with his pace.

If you look carefuly you will see that Ronaldo was against Fabregas who is slow and Lauren who was embarrassing to watch, Rooney was against Peres who is slow now and cole who had one of his worst games ever because his mind was distracted by the contract issue’s, If he didn’t score the penalty people would already hate him but thanks for god he did.

So quick players against slow players, you will always lose, I will count Cole slow just for this match.

Imagine what would had happened If Clichy played on the left wing insted of Peres and Reyes on the Right wing instead of Fabregas, At there backs are Cole at his best and Ebou who is very quick, I doubt Ronaldo and Rooney would cause us any trouble at all on the wings, on the opposite they will have alot of problems dealing with waves of our players going forword at the speed of light.

Gilberto, Fabregas and Viera would all play center midfield, And they can spread the ball at any direction knowing that there are always players who would be available to recieve the ball since they are very quick offensively and defensively.

Van Persie would play a lone striker role in the absence of henry, and suddenly we are very dangerous.
If Wenger wants to play this system again it would work well for us but we should have players with pace on the wings as well as the lonely striker should have some.
Young players with pace are the key to any success and we have them already, any more would only be a plus.

Sure the analysis are good. But at the end we won, and the next game will not be till the Fall. There will be new players and I am sure that AW knows what went wrong in the game and what went ok.

Interesting analysis, however you are doing the “what if” game.
Next season is completely different. We will likely have a different cast, and a fit Thierry Henry. That changes just about everything, especially the style of play.

I do see what you mean. But Reyes down our right flank? Are you kidding? I don’t think he can even kick himself with his right foot.

One game in I don’t know how many years under Wenger when we were out played offensively and we need all this analysis (however accurate).

I know it was the final, but as was rightly pointed out we won.

The good thing to come out of this game was it shuts up the brigade who bang on about the need to change things tactically. And claim Wenger is inflexible. To be able to change thing tactically you have to have players who can play in a different formation, lergely we don’t. Part of this is down to Wenger who buys players to fit in with the 4-4-2 style, but I don’t have a problem with that.

It was a needs must tactical change. We’ll be back to 4-4-2 whoever we buy.

It seems that Wenger found out what Arsenal is missing, and he will bring Robinho and Hleb to solve our problems. What an amazing power in going forward we will have.
Ljungberg, Peres, Fabregas, Hleb, Bergkamp, Henry, Reyes, Van Persie, Robinho, and latter on we will have Bentely, Quincy, Lupoli, smith.
Without a doubt the future is bright and people should expect Arsenal to be a giant club with the young players qualitys and the new stadium.
One super star a year will be Arsenal’s strategy after the new stadium is complete, since we will have one of the strogest squad ever in one team, we will have the strongest substitutes, and that should help us to win the champions League.
